I feel ready, and I want to share my work again. Today, I will give social media another shot. Today I feel happy. I feel stable. I filmed something for the first time in Lithuania again today too (thanks to @augustekak & @one100.store ❤️). Today I do what I love and today I live in a place I love. Today I am around people I love and today I am loved.

Today I smile, and I want to share why I smile.

I really admire people working market stalls. It becomes less about selling and more about conversations. I could walk the market streets of Morocco every single morning just to hear what’s new, what’s going on, what’s the tea today. And the best part about markets? I find it really captivating capturing people practice authentic arts. In that moment there is something raw in the image that you, as an artist, really resonate with. It’s like a puzzle and you just have to put it all together. The hands at work are the most beautiful.

Last January, I paid a visit to a set of Martin Scorsese’s Kundun. Even though it was built for only a part of the film, the design is incredible. To my surprise, even the track was still there. So I had to take a shot of my own.

It’s very important to know which certifications, qualities and skills are actually going to be useful. Don’t do a course in MS Office if that’s not one of the skills you are expected to use every day in your industry. Even if you are, do you need it? Think specific. Project a precise skillset that proves clearly why you do what you do and why you should keep doing it.

Following yesterday’s post, I have also put in some time into gaining an industry standard certification, which, as a mostly freelance editor, I am not going to lie, was a learning curve and a half.

But hey, I’ve done it and I am now an Avid Certified User of Media Composer.

I feel like I don’t really want to brag about the things I’ve done but you realise you have to. Backing up a cv or a portfolio with some certified (in one way or another) confirmation that you can still do the job, could make the difference whether you get the job or not.

So in this global crisis, unable to share a lot of my work due to films being put on hold, I’m doing some work to prepare me to catch up on all the work after.

I am now an Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) in Digital Video using Premiere Pro.
