This Summer I had the opportunity to be a part of an Indie Feature called “Be With Me” - A Passion Project Written and Directed by Daniel Gonzalez.

It’s remarkable what you can accomplish with a Skeleton Crew, a Tight Budget & a Dream.

This picture was taken on the second to last day of production, just moments before the aforementioned tackle.

With my Sound-Bag POV, I bring you a quick peek to a badass stunt @snowybridgestock and @jomalley31 preformed on set.

I felt like this moment deserved a post on its own. The combination of the harmonica, the carefully rehearsed stunt and the commitment of these actors, they manage to bring the scene alive in a way that truly draws you into the Wild West while you watch them.

Shortly after coming back from Japan, I hit the ground running to get back on set by joining this amazing group of filmmakers who were primarily based in New York.

Their Sound Mixer caught Covid two days before production started and I just happened to be returning to the States a day before their first day on set. So I kept my bags packed, picked up my gear and drove out to meet them.

For five days we shot an ambitious Western called “Echoes of a Gunman” out by Little Rock, CA. East of Santa Clarita on a little western town they rented out for the week.

I’m glad I did, because this was the kind of shoot that reminded of why I got into Film Production in the first place. Every person involved was a talented creative, with an unyielding drive to turn the words on the script into reality, no matter the obstacles we faced, and to tell a story they all felt passionate about.

It was a joy to work with all of them and I felt lucky to be a part of their crew. I look forward to working with this team again!

The wind speeds got so high while shooting out in Glamis, there were times I literally had to brace myself against the wind or get pushed back by it.
You see the sand hammering us and hear the wind distortion on the original recording that captured this BTS moment! On my Boom, however, I was running Sennheiser’s MKH 416 Shotgun Mic with Rycote’s Nano Shield Windjammer and the results speak for themselves. It felt like a good time to reminisce about my time freezing in the desert while shooting an awesome short called “Stranded 3” for Zach King Studios with Terry Cruz.

High Winds.. Low Temps.. and Sand Everywhere, made for an unforgettable experience out in Glamis with some of my dear friends and favorite people to work on film sets with!

Earlier this year I got the opportunity to work along side @terrycrews and @zachking in what turned out to be one of the most thrilling projects I’ve been a part of.

Check this out!! @williamhellmuth_dp captured this incredible image while working together on a super exciting project this past week. This particular picture was taken on our last day in Glamis during our last hour of daylight.

After three long days out shooting in the desert, doing wild stunts, racing the sun and bracing against strong winds; we ended our day atop of the sand dunes with a dramatic scene near the climax of the story.

The amount of talent and passion this whole crew brought to this production cannot be overstated.
I cannot wait to share more information about this project, but for now, I leave you with this image to tease your imagination.

Recently I got the opportunity to work on a short film called “Awakening” written and directed by @andrewnorbeck.

We did a three day shoot all around San Diego with a stellar cast and an incredible crew composed of my friends and former classmates from the SDSU Film & Television program.
