🍰 Back in Brooklyn.

Where the nights are long.

And my stint as a morning person fades into the darkness.

To celebrate friends. (Happy bday @sofiarembalsky)

And let them eat cake on the dance floor.

☀️ Spent Jan in Puerto Escondido. Not to DJ. Just for me.

The first Matinee was also a going away party. I’d decided to leave NYC for good.

Then it grew.

So while my heart wasn’t in the city anymore, I decided to move back to NYC. As a compromise, I promised myself I’d escape in the winters.

I almost didn’t go this winter. It’s hard to pull away when you work in events, but decided to keep my promise to myself…and am so glad I did.

I didn’t party. I didn’t socialize much. I took almost no photos.

I just ate ceviche, worked remote, made a plan for my year, and gave myself a side quest to get tan(ish)…and I rested.

And per usual, I found that simplicity is indeed bliss…and that sunshine, long walks, and a slower life can solve most ails.

Which in return gave me a new zest for nyc upon my return.

And despite my hermit ways, led me to some amazing relationships.

Idk if I’ll go every year, but I know that trip won’t be my last. Let’s just hope the new highway and direct flights don’t change the culture that’s perfect just the way it is.

Now if I could only figure out where to go this summer. 🤔

👩‍🎤 2026 coming in hot.

Back in NYC after some time working in Mexico. As always, it was just what I needed. Feeling grateful. Inspired. Recharged. Relatively tan.

Excited to be back home & creating once again.

This year’s theme is…structure.

🐲 Scenes of love from General Prim in Mexico City.

Went down to my fav city in the world to spin my fav big disco sound.

Started with orchestral remixes of classics courtesy of Eric Kupper, Dimitri from Paris, and more.

Then escalated to disco house and electronica via Folamour, Purple Disco Machine, Armand Van Helden, etc.

Grateful to be doing what I love in the name of love. Ty Kevin & Eleanor for trusting me with your big day. Y’all are amazing and so is the crew you’ve surrounded yourself with.

Venue: General Prim
Planning: @marcelaborroweddings

📻 A night spinning vinyl at @noroombar in San Jose del Cabo.

It was a rare week of gray skies and showers in Baja Sur, which unfortunately caused the wedding I was there to DJ to be postponed.

In consolation, @sydkeen of @the.bond.xx said hey…you should go DJ at this vinyl bar called No Room.

Did I bring vinyl to spin? No.
Do I spin vinyl even if I had? No.
Did I do it anyway? Fur sure.

What I thought would be like a 30 minute set going b2b with the owner @_g_zaddy_ turned into a few hours of me joyfully digging through a record collection of disco and world sounds trying to find a new track before the current one ran out.

While I was in a beautifully designed listening room amongst local creatives, it felt like I was DJing a house party amongst friends.

Generally, using another DJ’s collection would be a hard no even on CDJs, but in this case I saw it more as a sonic playground, an analogue world full of possibilities for exploration.

Was my mixing clean? No.
Was I good? By technical standards, hell no.

…and I couldn’t have been happier.

It awakened something in me and satisfied a part of my inner child that I didn’t even realize I’d been ignoring.

While I’m always at events, and I have so much fun at them, they typically come with a meticulous creative brief and set of expectations.

And it turns out a playground is the thing I’ve been missing. And something I should probably stop ignoring and build for myself sometime soon.

🏔️🚵‍♂️ Damn I miss nature.

Extended a trip in Tahoe to visit NY expat @bergles2 and she showed me what non-city life could look like.

Mountain biking. Hiking. Homemade dinners around giant kitchen islands. Game nights with friends. Concerts in venues that look like a dream.

Simple, everyday things that feel so foreign in the concrete jungle.

It’s a good life. One I hope to crash again sooner than later. 🙃

It’s a good life. One I hope to crash again sooner than later. 🙃

🏔️🚵‍♂️ Damn I miss nature.

Extended a trip in Tahoe to visit NY expat @bergles2 and she showed me what non-city life could look like.

🏄‍♂️🌊 Photo dump from an unforgettable wedding in Honolulu earlier this year.

Not surprisingly, Hawaii is amazing. I mostly worked from Waikiki for the week, but it was enough to know I’d definitely love to explore more during a future winter escape.

As for this winter, per usual I’m about to head to Mexico (Cabo & CDMX & Escondido) to DJ some weddings before heading back to continue nesting and matinee’ing in NYC.

I’ve been spending more time behind the scenes this year and kinda love it, but also miss the music.

Gonna take some time off in December to do 2026 planning and see what my soul wants to do.

Regardless, it’s been a fun ride. Super grateful for all the opportunities that have come my way.

Kinda feels like one of my favorite books, the Surrender Experiment, is a true story after all, except instead of surrendering, life just drug me along until I was too tired to push back any more.

PS shoutout to @morgansomerset and @timcschultz for trusting me with their big day…and for coming to party with me randomly ever since then in NYC. Y’all are amazing.

💔🎃 Muahahahahahahaha. I learned a lot this Halloween.

1) Halloween is still fun.

2) Nomad life made me a minimalist, but costumes need to get back in rotation.

3) It’s really hard to not have an amazing time in guyliner.

4) I can’t wait to love someone. It’s one of the few things really worth doing in life.

5) If you can, get married before you turn 35. Just trust me, it’s a lot harder to date when you’re tired all the time and just want to nest.

6) Peace is really the goal.

7) Creators and their creations make the world a better place.

8) Turns out that dressing as Cupid doesn’t mean that you’ll give off the “nice guy that’s ready to settle down” vibe that you intend it to.

9) I’ve lived without home cooking for way too long.

10) I’m really grateful to be surrounded by so many talented, creative people.

🎰🃏 Vegas is actually kinda great.

I was chatting with cousin @darciedrahus recently about what we should do for NYE this year…to which she said we should go to Vegas…again.

You see last year we decided to take an NYE trip to Vegas. We didn’t drink. We didn’t gamble. We didn’t think we were Vegas people tbh. But we wanted to go to @spherevegas…and we had an amazing time.

Anyma was the headliner. Neither of us knew who he was but we knew it was the first electronic show at the sphere so we rolled the dice. And damn was it good. Probably the best audiovisual experience in the world. 5/5 would recommend. Hell I may even go back to see Phish.

Beyond that, we hit up a bunch of shows including Cirque du Soleil and left creatively inspired. Humanity is stressful. Arts and entertainment are an important reprieve.

Idk if we’ll do it again this year, but turns out we are indeed kinda sorta Vegas people. Which I guess I shoulda known considering Elvis was one of my top artists last year.

PS s/o to @cindyoflv for showing us around and outside of the city.

💕♥️🎈Up.

It was a cold day in New York City.

We were hosting a Valentine’s Day Matinee at the venue where we both worked a decade earlier.

She said she needed help picking up the decor. I showed up and couldn’t help but smile as I grabbed the comical amount of balloons and stuffed them into cabs before we started floating away.

Walking into the venue, we were transported to a different era.

I was a 25yo midwesterner that had stumbled into DJing in NYC, certain that every gig was my last once everyone realized I had no idea what I was doing.

She had just moved to NYC from the UK and found herself managing a 3-story club in the LES, unaware that the DJ she kept getting drunk on the job was about to invite her into a new group of friends where she would gracefully preside as the fairy godmother.

In reliving those first moments, we had no choice but to relive all the good memories…and all the bad. We felt all the career progress we’d made and all the bad gigs we’d had to work through.

But while so much had changed, there we were. Still friends a decade later. Still laughing. Her still making everyone feel right at home and me still curating to help everyone let loose.

In a fleeting industry where gigs, venues, and colleagues come and go, it’s a luxury to have a constant. Someone who not only gets it but was there for it. Someone who adds a bit of sparkle to even the mundane tasks and lifts people’s spirits like helium in a balloon.

That’s why I’m grateful for @biancaharris101, and for all the friends that have been constants for all these years that kept me from floating away.

🪩🎪🎠 A disco carnival in Cartagena - pt 2.

I don’t post a lot of events I do bc well…I’m DJing and don’t content.

Luckily the super talented @3cuerdas had it covered on this one.

As I said in the previous post, this Cartagena music brief was one of my favs bc it was basically all the tracks I love…and an uninhibited version of a progression I’ve been trying to perfect over the years at destination weddings mostly in Mexico.

It starts with what I call big vintage (re-grooved classics, disco house & remixes), then peaks with latin/world/tulum house and throwback edm. It may sound scattered but it’s cohesive with the right curation.

It’s disco. It’s dance. It’s nostalgic, but electronic. It’s familiar, yet refreshing.

It celebrates music from every decade to keep differences lovingly united and slowly escalates into a festival energy that encourages you to shed your inhibitions.

Or at least that’s the goal anyway.

And I think we accomplished that in Cartagena.

Anyway, that’s all for today’s episode. Stay tuned for more updates on my thesis about music and dance floor psychology as they come in.
