Standing in front of Timesquare and seeing it was so overwhelming. It only hit me when i headed to the venue to collect my speaker tag.

The two Medici billboard by Cozomo Medici is now live in Timesquare.

Im the first Malaysian visual artist to be featured in the Timesquare billboard ever with her name. These NFT billboards celebrate us the artist and thats why NFTs are so freaking amazing.

I told people i will make sure I put a dark skinned women art on that billboard.

In Malaysia, we don't appear in billboards, fashion magazines, fashion runways because they consider our dark skin as not attractive. We are a fair skin obsessed country. They used to tell me my art was not nice coz the skin was dark. I should paint lighter skin tones, is that mud on their skin, so many ridiculous statements in a white skinned obsessed country.

Guess who is rocking Timesquare and the art capital of the world new York?

Happy to share my art "Pogany" is currently part of the exhibition HOMAGE, hosted by the National Theater Marin Sorescu in Romania - honouring Constantin Brâncuși, Romanian-French artist who marked the birth of modern art.

So honoured to have my art exhibited in such a stunning Theatre of art throughout March to April 2026.

Pogany is a homage to Constantin Brancusi, famous sculptures of artist Margit Pogany. I was drawn to the large almond shaped eyes that stands out on the oval face, the soft smile and calmness in the sculpture. It reminded me of the big eyes I draw on my own paintings. My painting is a homage to that beautiful calmness I see in his sculptures.

Exhibition is open from October 28 through November 28 and the exhibit is available for public viewing during regular gallery hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and by appointment.  A virtual exhibit will be available on the VCSU Art Department’s YouTube Channel.
