With “It’s OK To Be Kind,” Dutch band Urgent Kill deliver an album that makes clear what the band stands for: hardcore punk as an attitude. Lyrics and songs directly address themes such as solidarity, personal boundaries, loyalty, and conflicts within the scene. “It’s OK To Be Kind” isn't just a moral platitude, but a manifesto: taking responsibility, taking a stand, acting. Other songs reflect disappointments, tensions, and the attempt to remain consistent without losing touch. Everything is factual, concise, no exaggeration, every song hits the mark. Musically, the band precisely supports the lyrics with solid youth-crew hardcore. Positive and Focused Records remains firmly in the DIY spirit, focusing entirely on impact and attitude: no showmanship, no retro, no glamour, but attitude and substance in their purest form. Music is political.

Our very existence is political.

We may be so fortunate to live in our tiny bubble, but that doesn’t make us immune and it doesn’t make us magically safe.

One thing we cannot disagree about is core values.

If you do not care for others and genuinely believe that all people deserve to be treated with respect, decency and compassion, then you can’t join us.

This is no matter of opinion.

This is who we are, this is who we love, this is why we do this and this is us saying it louder.

No racists, no homophobes, no transphobes, no xenophobes, no extreme right wing supporters in my space.
