Our first Sewing Machine 101 class was this Wednesday! A brave group of new sewists learned all about the different parts of the machine, explored the unique features of our collection of donated machines, and got stitching! This class is a great primer for all who are interested in sewing but feel intimidated by sewing machines, and provides a fun, low-stress environment for people to play around with the machines and start feeling comfortable and confident using them. We will be offering more project-based sewing classes in the future, so make sure to take this class first so you'll be ready to tackle all the projects you're excited about!

Our second Parents Night Out is next Friday! We had an amazing time in April hosting this event - we Tinkered, played with Legos, ate pizza, and watched movies to our hearts' content! We are so excited to be back hosting Parents Night Out again, so if you've been looking for a night off, come drop your kids off at UpCycle next Friday May 29th from 5:30-8:30pm. While you enjoy a well-deserved evening to yourself, we will have a fun night in filled with crafting, legos, movies, and pizza!

We wrapped up the April run of Pants to Bag Beginner Sewing Series a few weeks ago, and check out these results! All of these incredible crafters came into the series as complete beginners, and left having turned pairs of pants into fully custom tote bags they’ll use again and again. They reattached patch pockets and labels, decided on custom bag dimensions, lengthened welt pockets to accommodate waterbottles, added keychain loops, and more!

This series is such a fun one for us to offer, and we can’t wait to see what the next round of sewers create!

Parents Night Out is BACK! We had a blast last month hosting an evening of tinkering, pizza and movies for a great group of little UpCyclers, while their parents hit the town for a well deserved night out. A great time was had all around, so we're back to host this event again in May! Join us on Friday, May 29th from 5:30-8:30pm for a fun-filled evening for the whole family!

UpCycle will provide all Tinker materials, movies and Legos, and a pizza dinner. For ages 4-10 (children must be potty trained).

UpCycle is always looking for regular volunteers at our materials center. Our donations and materials handlers sort and shelve donations, assess the overall organization of the shop, and ensure that the donations we accept are clean and damage free.
