Working in black and white is super fun, even if it can get a bit stressful at times. There’s something really raw and honest about those two colours, they make you think more about contrast, mood, and texture. I’ve always loved the demo tape covers from the ’90s, with their rough, gritty, handmade vibe. Being able to recreate that style myself feels really satisfying, almost like I’m paying tribute to the era that shaped the underground spirit.

For me, it’s not just about drawing or designing. It’s about capturing a whole atmosphere - a certain attitude, a bit of mystery, a hint of rebellion. When the artwork and the music actually complement each other, that’s when the whole experience truly comes together.

I’ve been neck-deep in Fulci’s Gates of Hell trilogy for years, and The Beyond is the one that feels truly putrefied in its own universe — like a doorway cracked open just enough to let the rot breathe through.

When I worked on the cut-and-paste collage for Reputdeath’s Beyond Alive CD back in 2017, it felt less like designing and more like summoning something half-alive. I was hacking apart old visuals, scraping textures, layering decay over decay until the whole thing looked like it crawled out of a mouldy VHS tape left in a basement too long.

The layout kept collapsing into itself, shifting like some cosmic-horror scrapbook that didn’t want to stay dead. But that raw, broken, jagged energy — that’s what made it beautiful. It ended up looking like a rotted zine from a parallel dimension, stitched together with nihilism, dust, and whatever eldritch noise was leaking through Fulci’s world.
