When Charlie Dollinger ’26 walked across the graduation stage this spring, he received more than a prized diploma — he secured a century of Dollinger family legacy at Texas A&M University, 150 years after the university started.
Beginning with his great-grandfather, Charles “Chick” Dollinger, Class of 1926, nearly 20 Aggies have come from this family, watching Texas A&M evolve from a small-town military college to an internationally recognized university.
The family’s stories go back to 1922, when Chick Dollinger spent his freshman year in a tent next to Simpson Drill Field. Filling his journals with details of Aggie victories over the Longhorns, reflections from Final Review and friendships with Yell Leaders, Chick remembered his formative experience at Texas A&M for a lifetime. Now as a fourth-generation Aggie, following his grandfather Jerry Dollinger ’69 and father David Dollinger ’93, Charlie carries on the family’s Aggie Spirit.
“Texas A&M has always been a part of our lives,” Charlie said. “It’s an honor for me to carry on the tradition my family started a century ago, and I hope future generations can keep it going.”

Meet Olivia Antonelli ’26, James Palomares ’26 and Hattie Tramm ’26, three Aggie seniors, Maroon Coats and scholarship recipients who sat down to write letters to the people they once were: wide-eyed freshmen stepping into the unknown.
Their paths have been anything but identical, filled with challenges, growth and moments that shaped who they’ve become. But woven through each story is the same thread: the lasting impact of a Texas A&M Foundation scholarship that helped turn possibility into reality.

The Texas A&M Foundation honored Tucker Gillespie ’26, Juan Olmedo Barraco ’26 and Ariana Zenn ’26 as recipients of the Trustees’ Outstanding Student Award.
This award recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional leadership, character and resilience while overcoming personal or financial challenges. From excelling academically and conducting research to balancing jobs, leadership roles and future service in medicine and the military, each recipient reflects the best of the Aggie spirit.
“Each of these students is so very deserving of this award,” said Board Chairman Dan Allen Hughes Jr. '80. “They have chosen to serve others above self and overcome great challenges to get to where they are today. We are excited to see where their next steps will lead them.”
Join us in celebrating these outstanding Aggies and their achievements! 👍

“There are heroes amongst you.”
In the early hours of the Kerrville floods last summer, Aggie students became heroes. Texas A&M University students serving as counselors at Camps Mystic and La Junta led children through rising water and darkness, guiding them to higher ground and helping save dozens of lives.
Moved by the stories he heard, Kerrville banker and Aggie Chris Braaten ’99 rallied his community to honor these students through a fundraising effort that raised $100,000. Along with an additional $34,000 contributed by the Texas A&M Foundation, these funds now support scholarships recognizing 17 Aggies who acted heroically that day.
For many of the recipients, the scholarship was more than financial support; it told them that they were seen. These students didn’t ask for recognition. They simply led, and that is the Aggie Spirit. 👍
