Cat Sivertsen is a multi-disciplinary artist, a visual storyteller, an arts-based educator and advocate for arts as wellness. Cat has been an artist for 30 years and she loves sharing her making practices in drawing, artist book making, and natural printmaking on textiles.

Join nationally awarded Métis artist Erin Stagg for a relaxing evening exploring acrylic painting as she leads us in creating a beautiful campfire artwork. Bring your friends, enjoy the ambiance of the gallery and sips on July 16 from 6 to 8:30pm! 🎨🍷

All supplies and one beverage are included. Additional beverages can be purchased. We will be using artist’s quality acrylic paint and brushes on canvas to explore the importance of affordable but quality art supplies.

Cat will be creating a collaborative installation using willow and hemp. She will be engaging folks in discussion about sustainability through the arts, focussing on thoughtful material use. Cat’s installation will encourage folks to explore Cottonwood Island Nature Park and emulate the rhythms and shapes they observe in the forest, considering where the willow grows and inviting curiosity and reflection about the park.

📢We're Hiring! Two Rivers Gallery invites applications for the position of Administrative Assistant.

Develop, implement, and maintain administrative systems that support the smooth operation of the Gallery, working closely with the Director of Operations, Executive Director, bookkeeping team, and staff. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient and excellent at multi-tasking.

Week 4, Summer Creativity Camp: On The Stage! —we’re excited to announce Melissa Glover as our guest artist as we break into the theatre arts! Play with improv, create your own set, and think about all the artmaking that goes into bringing stories to life! Let’s break a leg and get to it!

Melissa was born and raised in Prince George. She began acting at the age of 4 after being bitten by the theatre bug when she played a baby spider in ‘Charlotte’s Web.’ She also participated in local speech and drama festivals, and local and regional music and dance festivals. Melissa moved to Calgary after high school to further her professional development in the theatre performance program at Mount Royal University. After working as an actor, Melissa decided to shift her focus to directing. She took over Deborah McGladdery’s ‘Bard in the Yard’ summer program in 2013 when she started her own acting studio, Shooting Stars Theatre. This program has allowed Melissa to flex her directing muscles whilst tackling Shakespeare and kids! In 2014, Melissa assistant directed her first play at Theatre NorthWest. Since then, she has worked on several productions and has learnt so much and has begun to find her own directing style. In the fall of 2019, Melissa was invited to attend the Michael Langham Workshop for Classical Direction at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and work as an assistant director on the presentation series. Melissa has also directed some stage readings at Theatre NorthWest and is looking forward to beginning other programs to enrich local talent. She is interested in furthering her professional development and is very excited about the future of Theatre NorthWest.

Please join us for the reveal of “And Last Wild Thing, Find Your Way Homeward,” a striking and meaningful new art banner installation transforming the fence line along a vacant lot in the heart of downtown.

Located between H&R Block and Ignite Night Club at 1260 3rd Avenue, the installation brings colour, storytelling, and a sense of place to a previously under utilized space, adding beautification to Prince George’s downtown core.

This project was created in collaboration with the Prince George and District Community Arts Council, Two Rivers Gallery, and the Downtown Prince George Business Improvement Association, and was supported through a City of Prince George MyPG Grant.

The unveiling event will include remarks from the artist, offering insight into the inspiration, meaning, and creative process behind the work.
