We work with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and other state wildlife agencies on projects to care for our feathered friends, like building bird boxes and osprey nesting platforms, restoring native grasses, and helping wildlife thrive.

Signed on May 18, 1933, the act established the Tennessee Valley Authority to improve life across the region through flood control, electrification, and reforestation.

Crews are hard at work at Chickamauga Dam in Chattanooga to help us generate more energy for our region! 💧⚡️

Our Hydro Life Extension projects are helping keep all 29 of our hydroelectric dams running strong for the future. The work here at Chickamauga Dam in Chattanooga is a key part of that plan. Once the upgrades are complete, the dam will:
✅ Produce 144 MWs of reliable power for the next 40 years 💡
✅ Make our hydro system stronger 💪

Built in 1913 and acquired by TVA in 1939, the dam has played an essential role in our power system and has become a recreation destination for rafters of all skill levels! 💪#TBT
