“Two musicians, two continents and a concept deeply rooted in the complexities of time. It is from this formula that Time and the Moth is born... a reflection on the fleeting nature of existence and the way each of us chooses to live it. The idea for Time and the Moth came from an unlikely but highly creative connection between two musicians with a consolidated track record in the heavy music universe. Despite the geographical distance between Portugal and the UK, music proved to be the common element that united these two creators in a long-distance partnership. The name of the band, Time and the Moth, is not mere coincidence. More than a name, it is a concept that guides the entire project. Inspired by the image of the moth - a short-lived insect that flies in the darkness attracted by light - the band proposes a metaphor for the passage of time and mortality. It is an allusion to the choices we make as we navigate the shadows of life, often guided by an inner force that drives us to continue... reflecting on how time can be both an ally and an adversary. The band suggests that, although life can be brief and unpredictable, there is beauty in embracing uncertainty and living every moment with intensity. This is, after all, the legacy that each one can leave. With the first single, ‘Plugged...’, the band presents itself to the world with a sound that combines weight and melody, creating a balance between aggressiveness and emotion. The track evokes the sense of urgency that permeates not only the concept of the project, but also the human experience itself. Dense guitars, introspective lyrics and an atmosphere full of introspection are the elements that mark this track. The ‘Keep up the Pace’ EP is not limited to being a compilation of songs. It is, rather, a conceptual experience that invites listeners to immerse themselves in a reflection on the use of time and the impact of individual choices... already seen as a work that transcends genres and conventions, promising to captivate both fans of heavy music and those looking for denser and more philosophical content.
