Four years ago I got a text from @samuellaubscher asking if I could keep some frames in focus for them. Sam said there would be action, stunts, amazing music, and a new RED camera to play around with. I said Sam, you had me at “can you pull focus for me.”

Little did I know a couple weeks later I’d be playing filmmaker camp for a week in North GA staying in a cabin with a bunch of strangers. Theses are some of the kindest most talented crew I’ve met, I felt like part of the family instantly. Thanks to @brandmccormick @laura_ly_m @rachall3n @watsonalex @nicholaskirk @mrpunaway (and so many more) for making such a calm but focused working environment. And not to mention my partner in crime, fellow camera assistant @eggzactly for clapping that board (thunder sticks are op) and being a joy to work beside.

With such a quick turn around from a previous job, I wasn’t able to read the script. So staring at my little monitor, I attempted to piece together the story of The Daylong Brothers. After our last studio day and the wrap beers got cracked, I stood up on a chair and proceeded to give my telling of the story. I finished up and we all looked at Brandon, he says B+! Honestly I was surprised it wasn’t worse.

I will never forget my Daylong experience and congratulations to everyone involved! The premiere this past weekend was incredible and the film was more than I could have imagined, my heart is still racing.
