Have you gotten your tix yet for my @barzakh.cafe show on 5/29? Link in bio - hope I see you there 💐💐💐

May 29th will be a very special night because I’ll be making my official @barzakh.cafe debut with a night of originals and covers, I’m calling it “Disco Dreams” - tix in my bio!
If you’ve been following along you know I’ve been working on my debut album for the last year and a half, alongside my film @mythosmovie - these are my two babies! I’m so excited to be making my way into the home stretch of finishing this album with my amazing producer @noah___chevan - these songs wouldn’t exist without you! 🙏🏼
And I’m thrilled to be sharing many of the songs from the album with a community I love so much - the @barzakh.cafe community. Thank you El Atigh @promotheus_1492 for the trust and support and allowing me the floor for an evening! I can’t wait ♥️
Show description:
Theodora is a singer, songwriter, and filmmaker. Her music is lush, orchestral, and vocally-driven, shaped as much by her Anatolian Greek heritage and the Eastern Mediterranean musical canon as by her love of Western disco and classic pop. Drawing from legends like Barbra Streisand and The Bee Gees to Fairuz and Majida El Roumi, her songs feel classic yet refreshingly personal.
Her debut album explores themes of collective collapse, personal longing, and social unrest unfolding against a backdrop of shimmering disco. Disco Dreams is a two set evening at Barzakh, featuring originals from the upcoming album alongside reimagined classics. Come and dance along to this music made for both body and soul.
Barzakh Café also offers a curated selection of small plates and drinks. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, ease into the evening, and enjoy something from the kitchen or bar before the program begins. Happy Hour All Year.
See you there I hope 🌬️

Popping on with some bts from my album promo shoot with talented koukla @mariaelenakalas ♥️
And a little notice to save the date 5/29 for a special upcoming show at one of my favorite places - more soon! Ela!

Singing my song Babylon at my last show @pianosnyc
Sadly these words are feeling truer each day 💔

Some art I love
1. @byzantinefaces beautiful modern interpretations of Byzantine art. I love this icon esque woman holding woman…like cradling the child within
2. @abdulhamidabdalla_art I’m always mesmerized by the layers and detail of his work. Zoom in and go on a journey of a thousand paintings and stories in one
3. Tamara De Lempicka is cemented as an eternal favorite - her interpretation of Adam and Eve (1932) is hanging on my wall to admire every day. It feels so modern and so timeless. Also Barbra Streisand used to own the original
4. Another to be mesmerized by, a 1980 portrait of Fairuz by Croatian-Lebanese artist Cici Tommaseo-Sursock
5. The famous Le Violon d’Ingres (1924) by Man Ray. I love it
