BUILDING FENCES
It’s obviously a breakup song, it was one of those tunes that wrote itself really quickly.
I played the drums, bass , lead guitar & covered all the vocals. I absolutely love the horn arrangements which were done by @stuartbogie
Textural guitar overdubs by @gravywill & @granvat
Percussion overdubs by @cemmisirlioglu
Primarily recorded at the @thejetstudio
Mixed by @trinashoemaker

In November 2024, I had the pleasure of recording an album with my Tunisian friend Malek Lakhoua, who is a true force of nature – not only behind the drums. Malek is the founder of Tunisia’s first jazz record label, “Jazzit Records” and initiated a international music festival in Tunis under the same name, through which – despite numerous challenges – he supports young artists, musicians and initiatives, with the aim of bringing people and cultures together and fostering unity regardless of boarders. The second edition will take place the upcoming week at Mad‘art Carthage and IFT Sousse. Alongside these activities he produces exceptional olive oil on his families farm, is a beautiful humble human being and always a pleasure to chat and hang out with – which unfortunately makes my nights always slightly shorter than needed…
Malek brought this project together with with the American musician Kyle Schafer, who has explored and rearranged Tunisian melodies and songs through the lens of his US West Coast background. This research lead to “Tunisian Vibes“, where my Italian-Belgian friend, educator and saxophonist Pietro Vaiana and myself are featured. The album is now out on all streaming platforms and physical copies will follow soon, thanks to the support of Igloo and Jazzit Records.

Late Bush « Hoarses »debut album out in April on @vlekrecords. Pre-order now.
Album release show at @botanique_bxl on April 3 with @echocollectivemusic, and support from @_ssaliva.
From the string recording session with @echocollectivemusic , @fabien_leseure , @sonic_shelter at@thejetstudio
With this album, Late Bush offers an original repertoire, blending electronic music (power ambient, IDM, avant-pop) and early music.
At the heart of this material, AI-cloned voices, both human and spectral, extend the idea that all baroque interpretation is a reconstruction of the unknown. They contrast with organic strings recorded in the studio with Echo Collective, in a radical temporal hybridisation, creating a fluid and unstable material between memory and simulation.
Filming: Thomas Depas
Editing: @pseudohugo
Track IDs: Late Bush « Hark » & « Tangent Bile »

A week ago I had the honour to record the music of Georgij I. Gurdjieff under the leadership of the great @kudsierguner .
Together with @tristan.driessens and @kudsierguner we spent three very productive days recording in @thejetstudio, Brussels. This collaboration captures the fruits of our creative encounter based on the melodies of Gurdjieff and it will be published in the coming months.
