Crafting Community marks the launch of a new, annual platform to spotlight creativity through design and art, initiated by Johannes Schön (@johannesschoen), Anna Carnick, and Tatjana Sprick.

Crafting Community isa timely group show featuring exceptional, hand-wrought works by designers and artists from around the globe, all framed as poetic offerings from maker to community. As curator Anna Carnick observes, “Whether uplifting homages to the people who help shape us or critiques of attacks on vulnerable communities, these pieces serve as reminders of our individual and collective power.”

Pictured: Victoria Yakusha is a Ukrainian architect, designer, and artist whose award-winning practice draws inspiration from Ukrainian making traditions, fusing millenia-old crafts and lessons from the land with a contemporary design sensibility. In recent years, through her work, Victoria has become a global cultural ambassador for her country. At Crafting Community, she’ll present a collection that harnesses design as a tool to uplift, honor, and resist.
