A kind @usshornetmuseum volunteer saw me taking pictures next to this airplane and immediately went over to me to explain more about the airplane, which I was told is an S-3 Viking ASW plane. It was apparently an S-3 that flew President Bush to his “Mission Accomplished” speech despite the mission not really being that accomplished.

I learned shortly before @carrierconbayarea from twt drama that a lot of Nikke players self-insert as the Commander, which very much surprised me. I had thought the entire point of Nikke was to self-insert as the Nikkes. My hot take is that Nikke has been influenced by Italian futurism more than any other modern franchise (possibly due to the ideological origins of the ROK). Marinetti wrote that he thought it beautiful how war “metallized” humans and was “hygenic” to society (“guerra sola igiene del mondo”), all very Nikke-pilled. So I always thought Nikke’s appeal was the reactionary fantasy of being able to fight/die in a hopeless but meaningful forever war which periodically cleans up the Ark - all while being really hot/pretty (canonically, Nikkes look like ur “ideal self”).

But then I learned some guys are into the fantasy of having a harem of Nikkes instead of being a member of the harem. Baffling. This experience taught me that I might have a very poor understanding of most male fans. I will need someone to mansplain this to me one day.

Also people kept on confusing me for Amelia Watson...

Posting this super late...but #MagWest is going to always be one of my favorite cons ever because of how awesome the @lotusjuice concert was!

Was also extremely cool that he recognized my Persona cosplay (when a lot of ppl at the Persona gathering didn't lol) from my favorite game in the franchise (I have a personal reason for this...)

He also signed my old copy of Persona 3 FES, which is honestly a telltale sign I'm old. Also, he's super chill (and randomly super tall) in person!

Definitely had fun at the NorCal Summer Cosplay Beach Gathering (I am posting this very late)! Brought out Swimsuit Astolfo again because I don't own any other beach cosplays, lol. First time in months I've been cold in cosplay!

Also excited that I won a free ticket to MagWest. Excited for that too now!

Also, I ate like 11 tender juicy hot dogs. I am a gross pig if you didn't know...

Was also a fun day cuz my prop was a "1920's Prohibition-style" whiskey that I snuck in...it was mostly consumed by (21+) R1999 cosplayers at the gathering...😈😈😈
