For Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the women who shaped us, inspired us, and taught us that some of life’s best memories are made in the kitchen—because baking for the people you love is one of the sweetest ways to say thank you.

For @brianharthoffman, that memory begins with his mother, Phyllis Hoffman DePiano, founder of Hoffman Media and lovingly known as “Mama BFS” to our Baking School family. Phyllis often shared the story of her own mother surprising her each birthday with a beautifully decorated Cherry-Pecan Cake from Pizitz, a beloved Birmingham, Alabama, bakery and department store.

Our re-creation of this bakery cake serves as a beautiful reminder of the love that can be passed down through baking, memories carried from one generation to the next.
