A week ago, I lost one of my best friends, my babygirl, my Rosie. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love my dogs. I’ve done anything I could to give them amazing lives, taking them on adventures all over the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Bull Terriers can be a handful, hard to train, stubborn and sometimes aggressive but regardless, they are also some of the funniest and most loving dogs out there. Rosie was definitely all that and more.
Rosie was a total goofball, always getting into trouble, whether she was ripping something up, covering herself in mud, or snacking on things she shouldn’t. But no matter what she did, one glance from her would have my heart melting, forgetting what it was I was even mad about in the first place. She always had a way with her mama.
Rosie was also always the life of the party and loved meeting new people. She was always down for an adventure, especially if it meant seeing one of her favorite aunties or uncles or new found friends. Her huge personality and gorgeous looks made her the star anywhere we went. Everyone wanted to meet Rosie, and she loved every bit of the attention.
This past week has been hard. The house seems so lonely without her. Her usual spots so empty. As much pain as loosing her has been, the joy and almost 11 years of memories were worth all of it. I know my girl is up in doggy heaven run wild, chasing cats and eating all the street snacks her heart desires. Love you forever Rosebud! 2023. You were a real bitch. Im not sad to see you go. Life was harder than it has been in longer than I can remember. You challenged me to keep my head up and keep going, even on days I didn’t want to. You showed me that beautiful things can blossom out of nowhere and that nothing lasts forever. I’m learning to be ok letting go, starting over, and having less. Regardless of all the hardships, I was still surrounded by so many people I love, in so many places I love. So how bad could it really have been? To all my real ones, you know who you are. I’ll love you till the wheels fall off.2024. Let’s do this! 🪩💫✨
In all honesty…I hate selfies. But you guys seem to love them so I’m posting this one in honor of my 2 year anniversary of leaving NYC in the rear view and moving to Mexico! If you’ve never shook up your life to the max and turned it upside down to try something totally different…I highly recommend it. Life is short.
