🌿🦌 Spring has arrived… and so have the first deer calves!

As always, we need your help to keep both the young and their mothers safe 💚

Please remember these important guidelines:
🛑 Keep at least 50 metres away from all deer
👀 If you find a deer calf, leave the area - its mother will be close by
🚫 Do not touch or approach a deer calf, this can cause the mother to reject it
🐾Dogs must be kept on lead at all times until 31 July

It’s completely natural to find a newborn or young deer lying alone in the undergrowth at this time of year. They are not abandoned; their mother has carefully hidden them while she feeds nearby. Even if you can’t see her, she will return once the area is quiet and safe.

Most deer species give birth between May and July, which is why sightings like this are more common in spring.

Step back in time in Tatton's oldest treasure, nestled in the serene parkland next to the site of the medieval Tatton village.

Open selected dates from 19 June - 26 September (12pm and 4pm, last entry at 3pm)

Entry is £5 per adult and £3 per child, available online or on the day

It’s #EndangeredSpeciesDay, and we’re celebrating the rare breeds cared for at Tatton Park Farm and the incredible work of our farm team in protecting them for the future 💚

Three of our animals are recognised by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust as at risk or priority breeds – and can be supported through our Animal Adoption Scheme:

🐴 Sensation the Shire horse
🐷 Martha the Middle White pig
🐐 Emily the Royal Golden Guernsey goat

By adopting an animal, you’re helping support conservation, specialist care and the day‑to‑day commitment that keeps these rare breeds thriving at Tatton.
