Cairo, Egypt native guitarist, electronicist and composer Maurice Louca (@mauricelouca) brings his Fera Quartet to Detroit for an early Sunday evening exhibition of his vivid and hypnotic compositions.

Credited as one of “the most gifted, prolific, and adventurous figures in Egypt’s thriving experimental arts scene,” Louca’s music merges Egyptian shaabi, cosmic jazz, and improvisation, an amalgam that comes to fruition on his latest LP, 2025’s “Berĩy (Fera) “برِّي

This iteration of his quartet includes NYC/DC-based double bassist Luke Stewart (Irreversible Entanglements, @takealukearound), violinist Ayman Asfour (@ayman.asfour.violinist) and percussionist Dylan Greene (@dillychee).
