I woke up feeling blessed and super excited to turn on Peacock TV 🦚and watch the movie Please Don’t Destroy! The editors were gracious enough to leave me in a couple of scenes and I manage to say one line. 😀 I had a blast working with these guys on set. STUDENT FILM FESTIVAL! We wanted to make this easy — everything your student needs to know about submitting to On The Rise Student Film Festival in one place.

WHO CAN SUBMIT?
Junior high, high school, and early college students. You can be from Charlotte, anywhere in NC or SC, or anywhere in the world — as long as your student can be present in Charlotte on September 19.

WHAT KIND OF FILM?
Short films around 20 minutes or under. All genres welcome — drama, documentary, comedy, horror, animation, experimental. If they made it and it has a story, we want to see it.

IS THERE A FEE?
Yes. A submission fee applies. All details including the fee amount are listed directly on our Film Freeway page. Visit the link below before submitting.

DO THEY HAVE TO ATTEND?
Yes. This is a live event with screenings, awards, and Q&A. Students must be present in Charlotte on September 19, 2026.

HOW DO THEY SUBMIT?
Go to Film Freeway, search On The Rise Student Film Festival, create an account, and submit their film. That is it.
