Since their comeback in 2015 these dub techno veterans have been producing high quality music on labels like 3rd Wave Black, Minimood, Ranges, Taped Artifact and Mouche. They’re well-known for classic dub tracks like “Dust” and “Melted Vein” and Merv’s music productions go back to the mid 1990s. They blend dub, detroit and minimal sounds into their music as well when playing gigs - a true and varieted journey into perfection. In a very short time Merv has become an important act in the dub scene and has climbed many vinyl charts with their unique music

➡️ 1. Merv - F33D

Carl Raban:
Berlin-based artist and label owner behind this release. His sound is in constant evolution, currently rooted in deep, driving, club-oriented minimal and hypnotic techno. Built on long-form structures, his tracks unfold with patience and precision, focusing on subtle progression rather than immediate impact. Through detailed modulation and refined sound design, he creates a sense of depth that gradually intensifies, drawing the listener further into the sonic space.

➡️ 2. Carl Raban - Eria

Svedstorm:
Also based in Berlin, Svedstorm represents a driving take on dub techno. While grounded in the genre’s classic aesthetics, his productions push forward with a more pronounced sense of movement and energy. Across his EPs, he has developed a consistent sound that balances atmosphere and rhythm, combining deep textures with a clear, forward momentum suited for the club environment.

Live A/V show demo take 1. Early 2010s Novation gear holding up!

Visuals made by exporting individual elements from Ableton like the kick, chords and clap separately and loading them into blender and auto mapping parameters to the audio waveform.

On the top midi controller I am controlling a filter, a delay and a reverb on the chords

On the bottom controller I am triggering clips in Ableton and resolume which are linked together

Will work on it some more and post updates

post processing done in shortcut

You can see the video without post processing at the end of the clip

Music is from a 105bpm lounge/trip hop EP I am working on

Having fun with textures in blender! I took some photos of random surfaces and lights and put them in a folder and made blender iterate through the folder like frames :)
