Inside a torque converter, the stator plays a major role in how efficiently power is transferred from the engine to the transmission. It redirects fluid flow, helps multiply torque, and has a direct effect on how the vehicle responds under load.

Blade angle, curvature, spacing, and fluid path all matter. A stator that is designed correctly can help improve launch feel, towing response, spool-up, and overall drivability. A poorly matched stator can make the vehicle feel lazy, inefficient, or wrong for the way it is actually being used.

What does a valve body do anyway??

Think of the valve body as the hydraulic control center of the transmission.

It directs fluid where it needs to go, helps control clutch apply, manages shift timing, and plays a major role in how cleanly the transmission engages each gear. When the valve body is worn, contaminated, or not operating correctly, the transmission can start showing symptoms like harsh shifts, delayed engagement, flares, slipping, inconsistent pressure, or converter apply issues.

On newer transmissions, especially units like the GM 10L1000, the valve body is even more critical. These transmissions depend heavily on precise hydraulic control, and there is not much room for guesswork. Small issues inside the valve body can create big drivability problems.

That’s why we don’t treat valve body work like a simple parts swap. Our team understands how these circuits work, how pressure affects clutch apply, and what to look for when something isn’t responding the way it should.
