I’ve always wanted to see my cups stacked on a machine, it’s the main reason I made them stackable! Honestly, it didn’t quite look as I imagined. Since my shop @rume.coffee is takeaway only, it doesn’t matter much right now, I just set them up for a quick photo before shipping them off.

My first time visiting @drivingcreekpottery doing a 5 day glaze chemistry course by the very knowledgeable @ronaldboersen 🧪

That place is a world of its own! You can easily forget about the outside world when you’re amongst it all and surrounded by talented, passionate artists. A true legacy Barry Brickell created and left behind. I’ll hopefully be back one day for a residency. (Manifesting)

It’s been a full past few months, to say the least. One part of that has been shifting studio space while building out my little manifestation of a multispace – coffee shop, pottery shop, and studio. We only manifest the good and ideal. The other things that come along with that are only brought to the surface when it’s actually happening. Nonetheless, we’re getting there, and I’ll be opening up the space soon. Excited for the next chapter!

Follow @rume.coffee for more of the space as a whole.

The process for @frances_nation_shop

These little pieces are always fun to make but require a lot of small intricate movements with my full focus and attention

Tools of the trade

I remember always zooming in on other potters’ setups, always wanting to see what they used , thinking if I had them I’d be able to make great pots like them. And yes having good tools and finding the ones that work for you definitely help but aren’t a necessity to make great pots (I think). That said, if you’re curious about any specific tools I use, feel free to send me a DM.

The most beautifully curated online store @madegood.nz Good was one of the two stockist I reach out to a few months back. The manifestations have been coming to life and I’m so stoked that my stackers will be making their way there soon.

Reflection
It’s been a week since the website launch, and I feel it’s always nice to reflect on things once you have achieved them. It’s a big load off my plate but also the beginning of the next part of the journey. I forget that what I’ve really done is just opened up a non-physical store for people to come and go. And now, the mind starts to think more about how to bring people to the store, how to get people to believe in it without seeing it and touching it - or maybe I need more physical presence, that real connection for people to see the work in person, to chat, to share, to hold the piece and know the hand that made it. Still figuring it out.

Thanks to all who have made a purchase so far!
