Refreshing conversations about faith
400 - Losing Natasha
When Nadim Ednan-Laperouse lost his daughter Natasha to a severe allergic reaction on a plane, his world shattered in an instant. In his own words - “that moment was beyond what any parent could imagine, a grief that felt impossible to survive. Yet even in the deepest darkness, something extraordinary happened.”
Nadim describes seeing a vision of light, angels hovering above Natasha’s body, and later, through unimaginable pain, encountering the presence of God for the first time. That encounter set him on a journey from the depths of anger to finding peace and a belief in God.
In time, Nadim would do something he never thought possible: look into the eyes of the man he once blamed for his daughter’s death and say the words, “I forgive you.” Not through gritted teeth, but with a changed heart.
Since that day, Nadim and his wife Tanya Ednan‑Laperouse have campaigned tirelessly for food-allergy safety and policy change. They founded the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation @natashasfoundation in June 2019, which funds research and campaigns to prevent and cure allergic disease.

305 - Following God’s Voice
Whose voice are we listening to? When we truly feel God speaking to us, how do we follow his voice instead of opposing voices? @jessicaoyelowo shares how she and her husband have continued to choose the hard path of listening to God’s voice and why it matters.
Jessica Oyelowo is an acclaimed actress, writer, musician and producer. Jessica heads up Yoruba Saxon Productions alongside her husband David and they have 4 wonderful children together. 399 - The Performance
@loalaman shares a moment with his five-year-old daughter that revealed something deeply true about all of us - our longing to be seen. Jesus’ invitation was never about earning approval, it was about resting in belovedness. “I go to prepare a place for you” John 14:3 - not a job, not a title, but a place. A place where we don’t have to perform, because we already belong.
Lo Alaman is a poet, an artist and a founder of Urban Hymnal, a creative collective aiming to foster deep connections among believers and with God through the power of story. Lo lives in Houston Texas with Erika and their 2 children Emmy & Mav.

477 - Abide, Not Achieve
Shaila shares about the exhausting pressure of constantly feeling like she has to do more, be more, and achieve more. Through slowing down, abiding with God, and returning daily to the Psalms, she began to discover a different voice one marked not by striving, but by love, peace, and quiet confidence.
Shaila Visser has a heart for people coming to know Jesus and is passionate about helping the local church flourish. She is the National Director of @alphacanadaorg and the Global Senior Vice-President for @alphacourse . 475 - The Reality Gap
What happens when life doesn’t feel like the happiness we were promised? Chris explores ‘the reality gap’ - the space between expectation and lived experience. In that tension, he finds a reframe: suffering isn’t meaningless, but formative. And hope in God, isn’t fragile - it’s steady, even when everything else shifts.
@chriscipollone is a Sydney-based pastor, author, and speaker. He is the Founding Director of Life to the Full - a place to cultivate holistic Christian flourishing. Life to the Full is an extension of his book, Down Not Out: Depression, Anxiety & The Difference Jesus Makes. Chris is convinced that God calls us to love him in heart, soul, mind and strength, and so the more we pursue wellbeing from every angle, the greater our opportunities are to find true flourishing in God.

Today is May 15th, and we’re sharing this reminder that even what feels stuck is never beyond God’s timing. From sorrow that stretched over time to joy she couldn’t have scripted, every detail was carried by His hand.

473 - Cliché Verses
Megan shares about the part of Psalm 139 we can often skip past - the raw honesty, anger, and emotion David brings before God. Reflecting on what it means to be fully known, she reminds us that God isn’t only present in our worship or wonder, but also in the questions, grief, and feelings we struggle to carry. The same God who formed us fearfully and wonderfully also welcomes our honesty.
@meganfate has a passionate heart for people to know the love of Jesus that has lead her to speak internationally, from university chapels to conferences. She is teaching pastor at Willow Creek Community Church and Director of Women’s Ministries at Hume Lake Christian Camp. Megan’s book - Relaxed: Walking with the one who is not worried about a thing is out now.

472 - God, Where Are You?
Rich shares about walking through illness, disappointment, and the tension of following God when life doesn’t look the way we hoped it would. Reflecting on suffering, faith, and the ‘dark night of the soul,’ he reminds us that pain is not always proof that something has gone wrong. Sometimes, transformation is born right in the middle of it. The symbol of our faith is a cross and somehow, through suffering, God still brings new life.

He’s married to Rosie and they have 2 children, Karis and Nathan. His book, The Narrow Path is available to order now.

471 - A Want To Want To Forgive
Lisa shares her deeply personal story of pain, family brokenness, and the long journey of obedience when God asked her to step back into places she never felt ready to go. In the tension of showing up without clarity, ‘a job’ or control, she expected answers, but instead encountered something deeper. Here Lisa shares how she realised it was never just about learning to forgive but it was about receiving a love big enough to hold what she couldn’t.
Lisa Sunshine Jennett is a Texas-based Christian author, landscaper of 25+ years, and a joyfully quirky storyteller with a big love for people and even bigger love for Jesus. She lives in Texas with her husband, Dave, affectionately known as “Tank” and together they’ve built a lively tribe of six kids and a whole crowd of grandkids she proudly calls her own natural wonders of the world. Her memoir, When I Last Saw Me reflects her heart and story of freedom from her past and how we can step into our true identity in Christ.
