An evening of psychogeographic time travelling Northward to the land of the edge, astronomical architecture, logopolis, Alan Garner, the Wizard, Cheshire cats & a few rich footballers // further hauntological adventures from the Horse Hospital to other landscapes and other times via submerged London ambient soundtracks, dark edged spoken word readings, live electronics & once seen then forgotten 1970s TV plays, we are super excited for this one!

In his book Jodrell Atomic, James Fry explored his relationship with suburban Cheshire and the hypermodern Lovell Telescope nearby. The project combined photographs and text pairing Cheshire with Japan’s Fuji National Park and Mount Fuji, and later inspired a soundtrack album by The Pre-New featuring contributions from Luke Haines, Drealise and Quartermass 3

James Fry will present readings from his brilliant book Jodrell Atomic with electronic musical accompaniment from The New. Plus the legendary Malcolm Garrett, known for record sleeve designs for John Foxx, Buzzcocks, Duran Duran and Peter Gabriel, will discuss how Cheshire’s industrial landscape influenced his design work
