We won. We all won. It’s been such a joy to discuss issues with old friends, meet and learn from new ones, and now step up to work for a town that’s given us so much. It was a rare moment of unfettered joy as we watched returns come in, so I’m going to let myself feel joy as long as possible, and you should too. Maybe even hope.
Thanks to my ELDTC mentors who let me stand on their shoulders, my friends and peers for their encouragement, and my amazing family who gave me the space and strength to pursue this. I’m running for the Board of Education in my town of East Lyme, CT, and I’m energized to be a part of public service at this vital moment. At 6:30pm, I discovered a FedEx package and a HALF-CONSUMED JUG OF APPLE JUICE on my porch. My children had been in my presence all afternoon so I know it’s not them. It was not there at 5:30.
