The Songs of Awen are a Celtic collective from the Isles of Avalon, Glastonbury, the Songs of Awen share their original chants as part of Grove Wellbeing’s new folklore project, presenting a revival of the ancient ways and a harmonious exploration of the Proto-Celtic language woven into an exploration of melodies.

Connecting modern audiences with a nearly lost cultural heritage, the Songs of Awen write new songs and chants with the 4000 year old Proto-Celtic 'mother tongue' of our indo-European ancestors.

They invite you to join them in bringing this ancestral Ode to life, opening with their first chants to the Celtic Awen (the Celtic name for divine poetic inspiration) followed by an ecstatic round of proto-Celtic songs. Similar to Kirtan, these are created to sing along with so feel free to join in and enjoy sound-weaving these ancient words with them, to raise the spirits of our ancestors and honour the soul of these lands.”

The old songs still carry us. With Celtic roots and the deep resonance of Kirtan, Songs of Awen calls forth the voices of the past and weaves them into the now. A space to listen, to sing, to be held in the power of music that is both grounding and expansive.

We have been confirmed to play at Wider Horizons 🔥

We are the “Songs of Awen” a Celtic collective from Avalon who have co-created sacred chants in our ancient indigenous proto-Celtic mother tongue.These are empowering songs that we can sing together to bring awen to us all ✨

✨️The gathering runs from July 22nd - 28th, we’ll be playing an evening set on Sat, July 26th.

Wider Horizons Summer Gathering is a transformational gathering for young adults and is being held at the end of July 22nd - 28th at the stunning grounds of Wasing in Reading.

The aim of Wider Horizons is to inspire young adults through experiences of connection with nature, community, self, and spirituality.

♥️There are workshops, ceremonies, music, and dance to share tools for self-care and healing and raise awareness of social justice and eco-activist issues and cutting-edge developments in personal development, philosophy, creativity and well-being.

We are so excited to raise the ancestral voice together & bring harmony through this collective prayer to the lands and our ancestors 🙏
