That's a wrap for self-tape May! I saw last year that my friend @mobscenery was doing this challenge, so I asked her about it. I decided then I would give it a try. Here's what I've learned:

-Be vulnerable. Trying out accents was a bit uncomfortable, but I did it anyway. Self-tape May forced me out of my comfort zone.

-This was a very humbling experience, especially watching others' self tapes. To say I've been inspired is an understatement. I'm blown away by these professionals!

-I have so much more to learn. Self-auditions are practically short film productions. I know the basics for a home studio, but giving a grounded, natural performance takes practice...a lot of it!

Thank you to Audrey forproviding this free platform for actors to gain experience and insight on the ever-evolving self-tape process.

Legitimately 100% out of my comfort zone sharing this self-tape "whilst" practicing my British accent.

I'm over 60% British (so sayeth my DNA), so it flows rather easily for me. I also lived in the UK for three years and spoke with a British accent at a party once (for fun) and was totally believable. Still, being publicly vulnerable for this nearly perfect Virgo (😉) is difficult!

Monologue is from The Holiday, with the incredible Kate Winslet cast as Iris.
