10 years of ALS. Oh What a journey it’s been thus far. Lasertom played in the Ballroom on that first wild weekend where a few dreamers gathered a few hundred more to begin to shape and curate what would become one of Ireland’s best loved little festivals. The best one in my humble opinion.

It’s been close to an eon since Lasertom last played live. Some thought he’d never return (me), but after a slew of hints, and some gentle persistence from the chief dreamers behind ALS, they have lured ole LT out of the Lasertomb for a rare reappearance to celebrate the festival reaching double digits.

In 2016 I presented a version of Steve Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians, using 18 synthesizers to revoice the score.
I’m so pleased to be revisiting the project for Culture Night 2023 with a performance at the @nationalconcerthall in a new format dubbed MXXM.

With me on the night will be @gelatinousbones @segunakano_music and @ryanhargadon_ with live visuals designed by @kevfreeney

As its culture night the tickets are free and available from the NCH website (link in bio).

Humbled to be performing some dreamworld musics at the Space beyond curated by @the_spacebetweenat @beyondthepaleie June 11th ans 12th 🌞 🌞 🌞

Back to the music. A busy busy time in all the corners of life over the last wee while and am so very glad to also have a live performance coming up.

At the @invitation of @garethqr I’ll be playing some ambience at the opening of his curated night of music alongside @katiegoneill.

New music from @sorcalou and I today as we release Ode to the Ward, a song sprung from the Ward river that runs through Swords in Co.Dublin.

Lots of walks alongside these waters during the early stages of the pandemic formed the basis of this journey song, commissioned by @sourcearts in Thurles.

Sorca also made a stunning film accompaniment from footage of the river and its environs.

Time still feeling really slowed down, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but an ongoing disorientation nonetheless. Even the new year starting is only really sinking in, (only wrote 2021 for the first time this week).

This blue heart shaped pencil parer was my cracker prize at Christmas and it brought on a great feeling of joy, wonder and surprise in that moment. It’s not been far from sight since,reminding me of the veiled magic of life around us. So I’m sending out a wish for the gifts of wonder and what comfort it may bring as we journey onward, and the strength to endure the travails ahead.

I needed a gong stand for the upcoming show with @dublinfringefest so I consulted some sacred geometry texts, visited the local wood dealer, dusted the hammer and chisel, lit a candle, recited some incantations and arrived home with this.

Looking forward to seeing it on the altar in the Royal Chapel for Holding Patterns live, and hearing what’s on the other side of the portal from in there

I am tickled pink and purple to be part of the Dublin Fringe Festival: pilot Light Edition 2020. Having not dared to imagine performing live at any stage this year, to be doing so as part of this year's @dublinfringefest feels fairly surreal. I've been double taking for a couple of weeks now checking in it's real!!!

So on the 17th of Sept we're putting on a music show in the Chapel Royal in Dublin Castle. The music is based around the album Holding Patterns I released earlier this year (link in bio), as well as some new pieces based on this work.

A very limited number of tickets have just just been made available, (tier one tickets were snapped up pretty quick) if you'd like to attend hurry on down to https://fringefest.tickets.red61.com/events.php

The entire Fringe crew have been nothing short of incredible pulling the festival together this year amidst these stormy times, and have been super duper mindful of doing so in a way that adheres to covid safety guidelines, with social distance seating arrangements and all.
