That’s me done in Washington DC 🇺🇸 What a challenging and rewarding few months it’s been! From reporting on the Trump administration and its policies, Epstein files and depositions, Supreme Court rulings, suspected assassinations and of course, the US-Israel war with Iran - covering everything from the first US strikes and the Strait of Hormuz closure to the ceasefire and the fast-moving developments in between.

I’ve worked across numerous BBC outlets: writing in-depth online articles and analysis, doing radio interviews on Radio 4’s Today, 5 Live Breakfast, and the World Service’s The Newsroom, The Weekend and World Tonight. I’ve done multiple TV lives and packages for News at Ten, BBC Breakfast, the Six O’Clock News, the News Channel and more.

Along the way, I’ve gained a much deeper understanding of how the US political and legal systems function in practice; how military strategy, aviation and modern warfare shape events on the ground; and how rapidly shifting geopolitics are redefining global power and alliances in real time.

52 days - that’s how long the US war with Iran had beengoing on for before President Trump declared that indefinite ceasefire. But a ceasefire does not mark an end to a war. Trump has said he won’t hesitate to strike Iran harder if he doesn’t get a deal he likes.
It’s important to note - Trump only had 60 days to conclude fighting before legally requiring Congress’s approval to continue. So pausing at 52 days, wasn’t random.
The US is still at war, and here’s one way Congress can put an actual end to it…

Do you think Congress has done enough when it comes to the US and Israel’s war on Iran?

At the start of the war with Iran, many people said President Trump’s actions were illegal because he didn’t get permission from Congress to strike. Now that the war is ongoing, can Congress still do something to stop it?

Spending time at the ruins of Hadleigh Castle, watching the sunset - it was the first moment in nearly two busy years that I truly felt at peace. It gave me a chance to pause, reflect, and reset.
It took me back to the bible verses in my bio: Proverbs 31:8–9.
“Speak up for those who have no voice, for the justice of all who are dispossessed.
Speak up, judge righteously, and defend the cause of the oppressed and needy.”
These words shape how I show up in my work as a journalist every day. They’re at the heart of what I do, because for me, journalism is rooted and grounded in faith 🤍

The enslavement of Africans is the “gravest crime against humanity” - that’s what 123 countries at the UN voted, but 3 voted against it… so now what?

I’m so grateful to have won the @thetvfoundation ‘Debut Presenter’ New Voices Award!
The judges said the winner brought ”warmth and humanity to a difficult subject” 🥹

1. The award! 🏆
2. A preview clip of me from the BBC documentary, The Child Cancer Scam, played at the ceremony `🎬
3. Grateful for my girls’ support🥺❤️
4. I couldn’t attend but @stefania.okereke and @nyashamichelle_ represented and accepted it on my behalf. Nyasha kindly read out my acceptance speech below 📝

“Hi everyone! I’m so sorry I couldn’t be here in person tonight.

I feel so honoured to have been considered in this category with such incredible presenters, let alone to have won, with my first-ever feature documentary - so thank you.

Thank you so much to the judges and to Edinburgh TV Festival and to the New Voices team for championing new voices in TV and in journalism.

This film exposes a global network of scammers exploiting some of the most vulnerable families in the world - turning their pain into profit. Despite the fact they were going through one of the hardest things imaginable - taking care of a child with cancer, or even losing a child because of cancer - and then finding out on top of that, that they had been scammed - the families still found the courage to trust me with their stories. Without their bravery, this documentary wouldn’t exist - so I want to thank them.

Also, Investigations like this are never the work of one person. So I want to express my gratitude to the brilliant BBC Eye team.

I feel very blessed to be able to help tell stories like this.

Thank you so much again.”

The U.S. is going to “hit” Iran “very hard!” according to President Trump. There’s no sign of a de-escalation in this #war the White House has indicated could last up to 8 weeks. What exactly is the #US setting out to achieve in Iran? What do people here in the U.S. feel about what’s going on? Who does #Trump want to take over in #Iran?

I had my first, minute, taste of war 6 months ago… While having dinner in Israel, after an eventful day of filming, we were alerted that missiles were inbound from Yemen and we had to seek shelter. Turns out they were the first of their kind cluster munitions, meaning they split in the sky and drop bomblets. It’s easy to become desensitised to war - as we hear about it on the news, watch videos of bombs exploding on our phones, read statistics of how many people died - but experiencing even just a bit of that reality gave me a perspective that I will never lose.
