This week we re-opened granma's house. After 22 years. How did we do it? Us around a table, together. As she liked it.
It feels weird to see it all changed, all new. But uncle and auntie did an amazing job bringing this precious home back to life. And in a way, it did bring granma back to life. I am sure she is happy and she will dine with us again and forever.

Yesterday I went to see "The Devil wears Prada 2".
Without mentioning I waited for so long for this sequel to happen, I was so happy to see names of people I know and love, who worked on it.
But, mostly, it was definitely a proud moment, recognizing the sets from all the places I grew up in, in Milan.
When your favourite films come to shoot to your home, it's definitely a good sign, that one day, maybe I can come home too.

13 years, today, since this picture . Since that one way plane ticket to London!
I gave myself 2 years to come back. THEY gave me 2 years, the sceptical ones. They all went back. And I am still here.
No brexit, no COVID managed to get me out of this magical and magnetic city, that I love and hate at the same time.
13 years since there is no family reunion, hug, look, word, love gesture that I take for granted.
13 years of me trying to 'improve' myself to 'fit' better into a culture that is so different from mine. Sorry to say I didn't change at all. And you know what? I like the way I am. I don't need to fit anywhere, I am not a shoe box. I am someone who express her emotions the way they come, not filtered by 50 shades of polite.
They always ask me "how do you keep in shape and young?" , I respond "No diet, no sport, no miracle cosmetics, just let emotions through the body without blocking them" . Even if they consider you 'rude' .
I am grateful to the community of people who adopted me here and kept me tight all the times i wanted to go back. I am also grateful to the snowflakes who came and left , cause they made me really see who were the special ones for me. Next milestone: British citizenship!
