I didn’t break any time records that day but I definitely had record breaking grit and feel proud.😎
Running across Tower Bridge was a WOW moment.

Training for months and getting to the start line and crossing that finishing line knowing your effort was 💯 feels like a WIN no matter what.

Time to get stronger on all levels and optimize the system.

The Marathon Project Gold Wave was a 10/10 experience for me.🫶🏼🏆🤩.

PSA: If you are a Marathoner (sub 3:30…apply for this race!)

I lined up trying for asub 3:25 (A) Goal, (B) Goal, sub 3:28, (C) goal sub 3:28:30.
I was having the best day and thought I had my (A) Goal in the bag but at 35km I got pretty nauseous so had to slow down so I wouldn’t throw up….but still felt confident I could capture a PB no probs… ended up missing it by 16 seconds!! 🤪 3:28:18 which made it a (C) Goal day for me but filled with pride.🥰🙌🏻

I spent 1/2 the race reciting my “retiring from trying for Marathon PB’s”speech and just run them with a different purpose because I love the training but what’s a girl to do now!? 😎

I made so many new friends and got to spectate an awesome pro race andmeet so many Marathon stars…

24 days until The Marathon Project Gold Wave.🥇

I’m so excited to line up for the inaugural year of this race. I followed The Marathon Project at its birth in 2020 - when the pros needed a race for qualifying times asthe world shut down..I thought it was such a cool idea.
Looped course, Chandler Arizona- run as fast as possible. ⚡️ Ended up being One of the fastest years EVER.

When Ben Rosario CEO and Co-Founder of The Marathon Project announcedthat he was bringing it back in 2025 with an ELITE race and now a Gold Wave - opening it up to 1000 athletes - encouraging anyone with a 3:30 marathon time or faster to apply. I was in.

I applied that very day. April 2/2025

Day 2 is the Pro race which I love as a fan girl to have the opportunity to spectate-a marathon with star studded pacers and athletes.

I have no doubt this will be the coolest race on the planet and will be impossible to get in moving forward so I’m stoked to have my spot this year!!

No idea what my body can output…but giving it a go.

The experiences I get to have through running continues to heal me and shape me. Growth really has no limit. 🙏

Born 1993 in Ethiopia-2008 landed in the Netherlands as a refugee- now a Dutch Superstar.

I close my hotel door as the woman in a headscarf closes hers. Right away I know it’s her. On my floor?
We are alone in the hallway and then waiting for the elevator- get in.
“Congratulations on your race, I’m proud of you and all of your accomplishments.”
“Thank you so much,” she says, “Did you run yesterday?” “Yes I did, I loved it - such an awesome - but hard course!” “So hard!” She said.

The elevator started to fill and we were squished into the back corner.. I’m thinking…taking a photo in here would cause a huge stir and I didn’t want to do that. But boy I want a selfie! 🤩I love this woman!
As we reach the lobby I lean in andwhisper- “I really need to take a selfie with you is that okay?”
“Of Course!” She says joyfully. I take her arm and guide her to a little spot and here we are. 🤩

Broke her first record in 2019 14:44 in 5km, then mile record 4:12:33. Went on to pursue one of the most extraordinary track and field careers of all time.

Tokyo Olympics 2020:

Bronze-🥉1,500

2023 London Marathon debut- WIN 🏆
2023 Chicago Marathon WIN 🏆 (second fastest time in history)
