A few random thoughts/photos:
Starting Scabiosa for the season. Tiny greens finally starting to pop!
Still daydreaming of the perfect mossy green for the front porch, also about a new marble drying rack… decided it NEEDS to be rigged on a pulley system, so that’ll be fun when I finally get around to it.
Drying sheets on the window has me daydreaming about my early days and thinking about potentially doing a workshop or two this summer. Yeah?
Starting a fresh batch of Cream using my new felts feels like it might be time to make a new MADE TO ORDER listing and keep this basic paper option constantly in production.
But seriously, Scabiosa. I’ve just barely touched the surface of experimenting with this fun floral inclusion, and I love it so much. Lots of seeds for planting this years crop. Thinking it might be time to share the wealth. Who wants some seeds?! Maybe as a free gift with the next few orders or something?
Oh, also! Put a couple fresh papers and bundles online recently. More to come.
And now I need to head back to my mould making… keeping me very busy these days. Happy weekend, friends.

When that morning sun sneaks in at just the right moment while prepping pulp. Starting a fresh batch of my cream abaca/cotton paper. Let me know if you need some.

A few extra sheets left in my stack after loading the dry box, so for old times sake, I decided to brush them on the window. A beautiful and meditative process that (I forgot) often ends up in woe the next morning. Works wonderfully for kozo papers, but not so much for shrunken abaca. And now I have to see how long that sheet holds on by the deckled edge. Might start taking bets 😜

Ooohh man, the power of musical time travel. As I was trying to figure out which song to accompany these photos, good ol’ Instagram suggested this one to me. Haven’t heard it years. Permanently tied to the time in my life when I was house sitting a lot on the Blue Hill peninsula, while very impatiently waiting for Peter to recover from that pesky brain injury and hopefully remember that I still existed. What a wild rush of feelings as I work in my studio today in our house in Brooklin.
Annywaays, been working on getting some fresh paper online for you guys this weekend. Starting with this limited edition batch of my current faves. Available now.
I better get those seeds started for this year’s Scabiosa…

Sunlit Scabiosa. Still experimenting with various fiber/additive combos and enjoying the subtle differences in the way the petals react in the final sheets of paper. Thank you to those who have snagged a few sheets from the first couple batches (let me know if you need some of these A7s still coming out of the dry box). Hope you’ve been as mesmerized as I have been making it 🤪 Think I’ll make a few squares for the next batch in bleached abaca, yeah?

A little bit of life lately. Boatyard views before the Spring rush. Pincushion petal paper. Chicken barn finds/side quests. Sun. A million half finished projects around the house. Adding my grandmother’s arm chair embroidery to the list. Shaker peg rails of my dreams finally going up. Did I mention SUN?

Did something I don’t normally do, and added a few bundles of second quality sheets to the restock of my Cream Abaca/Cotton blend in A7 (5x7”) size. Playing it by ear, since it honestly makes me slightly uncomfortable to send sub par work out into the world,ya know? (Think random dog hairs or bumps, things I can’t control, hard as I try). BUT as much as I wish I could be like those potters who just smash their seconds (obviously, the papermakers equivalent of throwing it back into the beater), I also understand the desire to experiment with a less than precious sheet, before investing in the good stuff. SO limited quantities online now. Let’s see how this goes and I might just keep it up.

Hardcover books work double duty around here. In this case, pressing the air out of a bundle of papers (and being my second set of hands) as I pack up an order. When the packaging lined up this perfectly (and completely by accident) I had to grab a quick photo. Oh! And LAST CALL for 20% off my online shop, including ready to ship paper AND made to order mould and deckles only. Code SPLASHSALE at checkout. Ends Monday April 6th.
My endless gratitude for keeping this little papermill of mine going after all these years. I’ve enjoyed packing up every single order, and you better believe I do a little happy dance and praise each kind soul (especially my repeat customers who continue to blow my mind). Seriously, honored to share the things I make with you.
Obviously, @themainehouse_thebook is my favorite book to use.
And shoutout to @oldcity_mailroom for the fresh font I’ve been playing around with lately.

Still a privilege to make them for you after all these years. Hoping to compile a list of testimonials for my ongoing web refresh… Would love to hear from my fellow papermakers if you’re a magnetic mould convert. Lord knows, I wouldn’t be here without YOU.

My absolute endless gratitude!
Yup, I ain’t done nothing since I woke up today. Just kidding, I’m catching up in my studio and really feeling this version of Angel from Montgomery as I pack up your orders (thank you!). Hence, the self gratuitous reel of my pinboard/tv cover/daydreams.
