What we hoped to create with SEY House was a space that felt open, curious, and rooted in a more democratic approach to coffee.

Over four days, that idea came to life through hundreds of conversations, brews, tastings, and shared moments between producers, roasters, green buyers, baristas, home brewers, and guests from around the world. People brewed side by side, asked questions freely, shared ideas openly, and spent meaningful time around coffee without barriers between guests, professionals, and producers.

What stayed with us most was the generosity of the atmosphere and the genuine curiosity that carried through the space from beginning to end.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us in San Diego and helped shape SEY House into what it became!

We wanted to create a more open space for conversations around brewing, sourcing, new releases, transparency, and the broader work happening across SEY and with our producer partners.

Our hope is that it becomes a place to share ideas, ask questions, and continue learning together—bringing producers, baristas, roasters, home brewers, green buyers, and the broader coffee community into closer conversation.

We will also be hosting live brew sessions with Lance Hedrick, with the next taking place May 16 at 10 AM EST.

2021 was a year of many things. For us, it was a year of reflection and intentional questioning; a year of high highs and low lows, and ultimately, a year of growth. Looking back is always an interesting practice, and we are unbelievably grateful for all of the love and support that allowed us to continue to do what we love doing the most.

This year we were able to purchase a staggering 128 micro lots from smallholding producers, and we continued to significantly increase the average price paid to these dedicated and talented coffee growers. Our focus remains showcasing the inherent beauty of quality raw coffee, and 2021 has been our highest scoring year thus far.

To all of the amazing coffee farmers, import/export and logistics partners, our incredible cafe and production teams, our wholesale partners, and all of you who have purchased the coffees: we are deeply grateful for all of your continued support, without which none of this would be possible.
