I remember reading one of the first editions @design.anthology randomly in a clinic in Sydney possibly a decade ago. I still was in highschool then, probably went to the clinic to skip school hehe. It’s surreal to have this. To have my name written and published. It’s quite literally so satisfying. A full circle moment. Thank you @edwin_supermama @suzyannetta @finddesignfairasia @supermamasg. Immensely grateful to have been part of this year’s EMERGE @ FIND2025

Bantog Soil Profile

Clay is not neutral.
It carries altitude, erosion, coastline proximity, and mineral composition.

The Bantog soil is a montmorillonitic clay with high shrink swell capacity, producing wide cracking and structural movement as it dries.

This material study examines how soil composition and geological conditions influence the behavior of clay as it approaches its melting point.

Part of the ongoing research for Melting Point

Morning is heavy. Before the noise, obligations and the smoke rising. There’s no attempt to resolve anything. Especially in this hour. The vessel is grounded, however I am not. Smoke is fleeting. However I am not.

This piece is called Eternal Morning, born from a suspended moment. The fragility between exhaustion and beginning again. That I currently reside. Part of the Vigan exploration on craft and tradition. Here we’re highlighting the traditional pottery “pagburnayan”. These vessels are one off. These are bided pieces. Name your price

Flicked a lot of people off with this one.

Census Café is located at the very heart of Vigan City, along Calle Crisologo. Here, we explore the entire sensory system. The space formerly the old census building. It felt right to honor again, this time by name: Census.

This iteration is about the act of taking record of being truly present.

The café will be opening soon. In the meantime, I’ll be sharing the furniture and other bobs we made for the space.

Hey guys! Meyte here. I wanted to announce something really important to me. As everyone knows, I’m primarily a designer and I’ve worked with capiz my entire life. Being a third-generation artisan, I’ve had the privilege of working with such an endearing material.

But I wanted to explore and fully exhaust my curiosity. I wanted to make something uniquely my own. Around November, I started working closely with a carpenter for Census Vigan, and after watching him work, my hands started getting itchy. I wanted to learn.

So here’s to my next phase, stepping into woodworking. I’m so excited for this new season of my life. After a long tenurewith capiz, I believe I owe it to myself to explore something different.Ps. I wasn’t the one who made these but I helped annoy him for sure. I pray I don’t cut my fingers

It’s going to be a good-time ride this year.
We’re starting it with our love for coffee and furniture @censusvigan.

This first exploration brings together mahogany and solihiya
a double-back chair reimagined to play with colonial Filipino form.

Play around time and space

The swell of the waves. I visited a carpenter today by chance and immediately my mind started to wander. I have no clue about wood and trees but I would love to experience you. Maybe one day mahogany
