“In an unsuccessful bid to prevent Congress from certifying the results of the 2020 presidential election, 147 Republicans formally supported objection to counting Joe Biden’s electoral votes,” Steve Brodner (@SBrodner), a satirical illustrator and commentator, writes in a guest opinion.
“Some have already left office. But as many as 117 members of Congress are running for reelection in 2024.”

My tribute to Timothy McCarthy, one of my favorite artists, who caught fire in our Bootcamp and spread the energy to the rest of us. THANK YOU Timothy.
“I’ve made artistic progress that pleases me more than at any other period of my life. I’ve also discovered a lot about fountain pens, paper and ink. I’ve always felt rooted in drawing and now I have greater confidence in how I go about it . . .
Now I realize that drawing simply serves as a way for me to explore the world I encounter. I make discoveries that please and enlighten me—reach new insights . . .”

The backlash to Trump's astonishingly naked money grab, funneling people's hard earned tax dollars to the lowest criminals in American history, has been swift and decisive, even among Republicans. The amount of revulsion is coming close to matching the enormity of Trump's depravity. No wonder that it echoes an idea straight from Hitler! Who knew!? So there is a precedent for rewarding one's storm-troopers with a big, fat fund to keep them loyal and violent! But Germany did not respond the way we are doing it tonight.
This comes on the same day when his desecration of the White House was effectively halted by the parliamentarian of the Senate. So we continue with the same pattern: he responds to low poll numbers resulting from his spectacular failures by creating even more spectacular ones!
If we stick together, we are going to win.
And we will.
More soon.

Another week of neck-wrenching twists and turns. It's like there's no time anymore to adjust to new conditions because in five minutes there's some drastic change for the worse that you then have to somehow psychologically compensate for. How do we reconcile all this news and the need to be hopeful in our personal lives? I think the answer has got to be in community. Being with others sharing feelings and gathering together in the knowledge that we are a part of a massive and powerful resistance. stevebrodner.substack.com
