For our last weekend in this showroom we have a final selection of glass art works available by Sara Hubbs | “When Worry Feels Like Care,” kiln formed glass made in conjunction with her 2024 exhibition at @mocatucson
“I like the leftover shapes, the overlooked, the ones that blend. I like the over-used shapes, the absurd ones, the ones that scream for attention… they want too much, they are too much. I like the shapes that overspill their referents, work outside of their own contours.” — @sara.e.hubbs
these delicate works make the perfect unique gift (V-Day or every day) for the art lover in your life

SOLD OUT
Made from glass and metal, “hand crafted to reflect the aesthetic and creative spirit of the Sonoran Desert borderlands.
Inspired by re-bar and the rusted metal in the built environment, they celebrate the beauty found in rawness and imperfection.
The sconces emit a diffuse light, reflecting the atmospheric colors and minerals of the desert region. The name borrows the metalworking term ‘the drop’, referring to the metal off-cuts that fall to the floor.
The glass used for The Drops is sourced from the off-cuts generated during artist Sara Hubbs’ (@sara.e.hubbs) process of creating blown glass sculptures. The glass fragments that remain are recycled and fused in the kiln to create a round lens. Each glass element is unique and carries within it a timeline of color and shape. The Drops are created at the Sonoran Glass School in Tucson, the only institution of its kind in Arizona.
From prototype to production, DelaLuz worked with local craftsmen to realize the seamless metal support by designer Maria Flores (@circa199x). The design reveals its own logic. The light source is held by a
single piece of bent metal and the pin allows the glass to float, evoking the colorful light of place and process.
The Drops were selected for the Inédito exhibition during the Design Week Mexico 2023 and were exhibited at Espacio CDMX through February 2024.”
