Sharing this funny portrait of Martin Parr from the session I assisted with@jpib64 back in 2014, the morning after Parr’s Austin Center for Photography lecture.JP had been making portraits of all the @magnumphotos members after their lectures all over Austin and it seemed fitting to shoot Martin right by his hotel at a super corny landmark which he has been collecting these portraits all over the world forever.It was a 6.30am set call since Parr had a flight to catch I think and was a bit sleepy when he showed up maybe didn’t have his morning cup of tea yet. He asked how many slides JP had loaded for his 8x10 . I think JP said 6? When we were on the last slide, JP asked to do one more and Martin said you no, said 6! Haha. I’m pretty sure he turned his back for the last one too which is probably the best capture. I’ll never forget this shoot and how direct and quick witted Parr was that morning having the last laugh!. ❤️ RIP Sir Martin. We love you so much!
