Rory McIlroy’s iconic Master’s Tournament win goes down in the books and is such an emotionally charged golfmoment. I made this animation last year and i got a flood of messages from people saying that they cried when Rory finally won. The Master’s tournament is starting and we are excited. Also loved syncing this to @benkweller ‘s classic tune. Ben lives a nearby fellow Texan who has soundtracked my life the better part of 20 years, and is still releasing some of his best work.

I had a conversation with a friend this week that reminded me of this excellent Rick Rubin quote. One of my biggest obstacles as a creator is being ok making something even if no one cares or watches. Do it for the work itself. The work is the destination.

Chris Fleming talked about this on Mike Birbiglia’s Working It Out podcast this week about how he continued doing the type of unique work he loved and eventually it found its audience. He didn’t adapt his work to the audience, he kept making what was interesting to him and eventually audiences followed.

Harry Styles hosted SNL last week, and while I haven’t really dug into this album yet I really enjoyed his performance. I enjoyed the idea of a modern disco album and thought he was super charming. I thought of disco as a whole and it being a genre of music I never really gave a lot of value to but wonder if there is something there worth exploring. This mixed media animation was made exploring the fun of strobe lights and disco balls and of course Harry Styles dancing.
