For my thesis artwork, I originally envisioned a looming doll. Eventually, I decided the doll would be facing a house, and she would be a protector statue surrounded by babies and creatures. This was the first large sculpture I've ever made, and I had to learn many new skills in a very limited amount of time.

After 8 very stressful months of working on it, I'm honestly kind of shocked that everything came together in time! This installation represents me becoming my own protector and finally becoming strong enough to face down my toxic childhood home.

I have officially finished my MFA!!! Thanks to my classmates, professors, and partner for the continuous support.💖💖

𝘾𝙖𝙞𝙩 𝙍𝙚𝙞𝙙 will be in conversation with 𝙅𝙚𝙣 𝘼𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙡𝙤 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙜𝙪𝙚𝙧𝙤, 𝘾𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙮 𝙇𝙞𝙣, 𝙆𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙎𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣 & 𝙍𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙎𝙞𝙡𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣-𝙂𝙤𝙧𝙣 to discuss repetitive processes, craft and its persistence in our practices; thrust, velocity, resisting gravitational pull; getting emotional about something as large and clunky as a bridge being flexible due to its humble rivets; a genuine attempt to build something, the pleasure and riveting inherent in that; giving spirits a home to reside and stretch out; objects in our lives charged with the mystical ability to move us forward; protective talismans, snakes, volcanoes; honoring the tiniest seed of being in the form of frog eggs; imagery inside voids as glimpses in; the act of sewing taking the place of caretaking; preparedness for worst case scenarios; art practice as a way to fix things, make things right; as a form of repair and a way of marinating in the good times.

We will have ice cream & conversation in 𝙎𝙐𝙉𝘿𝘼𝙀 𝙎𝙊𝙇𝙄𝘿𝘼𝙍𝙄𝙏𝙔 hosted by 𝙆𝙖𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙖 𝙎𝙡𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙠 while taking in the setting sun until 6pm✨🐎✨
