TBH I haven't loved the vibe in the UK over the couple of weeks, but here's a reminder that we're all in this shitshow together. And a reminder that we need to reform (pun intended) political funding laws.

I wrote this in the aftermath of the last rally. Trying to feel something more useful than outrage. Trying to practice what I preach - No them, just us. It's long (soz) but the best bit is at the end 😜🇬🇧

Went to @onenightslam Heard some top-notch poetry and met some lush people.  

I felt lucky (and a bit sick) to perform and even luckier (and undeserving) to win at the slam, but ⭐ it's about the poets, not the points ⭐ And the poets were 🫰🏼 As was the vibe. As were the organisers. Thank you @tyronelewis22

A year ago, I had done exactly one open mic. I didn’t know what I was doing - just that trying, even if I'm sh*t, is better than not trying because I'm worried people might think I’m sh*t. Since then, I've been discovering how excellent and kind and inspiring the open mic community is – reminding me to think bigger, notice smaller, and accept that winging it is part of the process.

Ps. Despite watching every episode of At Home with the Furys, I don't know how you’re supposed to hold a boxing belt. Apologies.
