For a few years the inspiration and the motivation has been building up to create some new music. Recently I discovered the instrument that reignited my most curious and playful parts. The @genkiinstruments Katla synth became the center piece for the new music I’m making.
The album is slowly taking shape and it makes me really happy to have found this new inspiration in my life.
On this short reel I’m sharing a snippet of the latest track I made called Fracture.

Durante algunos años, la inspiración y la motivación fueron creciendo para crear música nueva. Recientemente descubrí el instrumento que reavivó mis partes más curiosas y lúdicas. El sintetizador Katla de @genkiinstruments se convirtió en la pieza central de la nueva música que estoy creando.

El álbum está tomando forma lentamente y me hace muy feliz haber encontrado esta nueva inspiración en mi vida.

We’re back!!!

After some time away from the stage, we’re finally ready to light the fire again.

New lineup, new songs, same raw energy.

We’ve been silent for a while, but trust us, we were sharpening the knives.

A few months ago I started diving into the wonderful world of sampling and creating my own instruments.

After my first adventure sampling my GuitarViol and creating a Kontakt instrument, designing the GUI, learning how to write code in Native Instrument’s own Kontakt Script language, I posted a story and my friend and colleague @maxfilges approached me and we decided to make an instrument together. The first session was a blast and we came with a great idea to develop a Kontakt instrument that was unique and that we could use for our compositions. After that session work and life happened and we couldn’t find the time to meet. I was so into it and having so much fun that I just couldn’t stop so after talking it through I brought the idea to fruition. However it’s still a beta version and it’s not what this video is about.
When we were able to meet again after a few months Max came up with the idea of creating a simpler instrument that the four of us together with @tmstgrm and @christoph_schauer_music could use for the second season of Oderbruch. I thought it was a great idea so we started by imagining what it could do, what it should consist of and we started designing the GUI. Then work and life happened again so I started creating the basics of the instrument and just for fun ended up making four of these.

Each instrument consists of two layers. One layer is the original sampled instrument and the second layer would be that sampled instrument processed through outboard gear, like the @hologram_electronicsMicrocosm, the @makenoisemusic Strega and the @folktek resonant garden.
One knob in the middle called “Drip” would blend both layers. If it’s all the way to the left we would hear only the original sampled instrument and all the way to the right, the processed signal. In the middle we would hear a blend of both.
Then we would have a cutoff (self-explanatory), an ADSR control and two sliders that would control different effects simultaneously.
The “Harshness” slider controls the drive of a distortion effect and a limiter and the “Shimmer” slider controls the amount of wet signal of a reverb up to a quarter of the slider….[continues in the comments]
