Amazing what you can see in a 3 hour flying visit to the city of the seagulls Brighton and @greatescapefest

Second up we went to our @campbestival spiritual home of Caravanserai in their residency @brightonfringe to hang out with @djchristofu and @debbralee_wells knocking it out the park .. DO watch the vid.. she is amazing
And last but not least a flyby of the site for the @britishsaunasociety Brighton Sauna Festival site where I’m programming the music in a couple of weeks time … if you’re ever in the seaside city head to @beachboxbtn and see sauna pioneer @liz_sauna_steam and her ace collection of saunas
Back to the safety of the Isle of Wight now 🚂 🫣
WARNING ⚠️ this is a very long boring reel unless you came to Bestival in 2012 …
Happy Birthday Stevie Wonder!! Thank you for agreeing to come to our festival @bestival in 2012… I just found the stage timing sheet which was my bible as I built the line up over about 9 months and I’m super proud of this one … ridiculous levels of amazing artists that year and I was spoilt for choice… I wasn’t known for coming in under budget and I can’t imagine what this line up would cost these days
If you were working there, playing or simply raving thank you one and all for making mine and @josiedabank dream come true… 60,000 of us singing along to Stevie on a Sunday night on the Isle of Wight … oh yeah and @charli_xcx played a tent for about 300 people at 215pm in the afternoon
Kinda insane we all had the chance and choice to see acts from Stevie and @florence to @neworderofficial @wearedelasoul @fourtetkieran @etjusticepourtous @majorlazer @thexx @firstaidkitband @sigurros @earthwindandfire @orbital @garynuman our unofficial residents @hot.chip @thehorrors @kevinsaunderson @2manydjs @soulwaxofficial @officialspzd @michaelkiwanuka @francoisknyc @ben___ufo @cariboumusic @ltj_bukem @liannelahavas @rudimentaluk @grimes @skepta @unrealaltj @si_bonobo @doom @benhoward_ and so on and so on 😴 👯♀️🕺🫶

I’ve created a UFO 🛸 landing site … guarded by Pygmy goats 🐐 let’s see who comes down 👽
Forget the 🌳 in Ibiza… I found the real one in Bilbao… saw Puppy by @jeffkoons when it was first planted back in the day @museoguggenheim and it’s still just as beautifully simple .. and full of birds 🐦

On April 8th, we learned the very sad news that our dearest friend Luke passed away after a very short illness. We still can’t quite believe he is gone.
Robby and I have been reminiscing about the many moments we shared with him. Not only were we close friends for 30 years, but we also went on an amazing creative journey together—one I’m extremely proud of and one I know will bring back so many memories for you all.
Way back in the 90s Robby set up his first club night Sunday Best in South London. That night was responsible for everything we achieved. It’s where we met a new tribe of young creatives connected by a love of music, art, and fashion. Luke and I connected instantly.
At the time, he was a designer at i-D Magazine; he knew style and cool better than anyone I’d ever met.
When Robby released the first Sunday Best compilation Luke and I began a long partnership creating record sleeves, flyers, and invites.
He later designed the logo and neon sign for Cocomo, the bar I opened with my best friend T. In 2004 Bestival arrived and that’s when Luke and I really started to have creative fun! We designed the first poster by hand-pressing text at an old letterpress studio. Luke was so brilliant with fonts and colour—he instinctively knew best, and I was always happy for him to have the final say. Our last project together was creating the Stargazy venue at Camp Bestival in 21&22. I truly wish we could have done more. Beyond his talent, Luke was one of my favourites. While Robby DJed, I was always by the dancefloor chatting with Luke; he had the warmest smile.

Luke Lobley ❤️

No better place to be than the poolside DJ booth @pikesibiza on a spring day as Ibiza starts to wake up
I took the opportunity of playing a little rare vinyl only musical tribute to our dear departed mate @lukelobley who took the eccentric illustrations of @josiedabank and designed them so beautifully for years on @sundaybestrecs … too many memories 😢
Lovely to share the booth with @daveseamandj @moggamorell @kenfanmusic @kasheme and of course the High Emperor of Sunday afternoons at Pikes @formankind_ibz ✌️
Finally found the tree of life last night … and it’s outside a Spar in Santa Eularia, Ibiza if you’re passing … 🌳#treehugger

POV: you’re arriving by ferry for your first date @pikesibiza so they send the mayor out to meet you and give you the VIP massage treatment 🫠👯♀️
Can’t wait to be back behind the decks at the coolest DJ booth in the 🌍
#pikes #ibiza #sunrise

See you in the stardust Lukey … Completely knocked for six by the news of Lukes passing… me and Josie and then our boys have been mates since the 90s when we were all hedonistic ‘creatives’ in London… @lukelobley designed our logos, artwork and posters for so many of our @bestival festivals, @sundaybestrecs record label sleeves and always delivered the coolest, most iconic designs that still look incredible now… but really Luke was that most dependable of soul mates who always showed up with his affable grin and low key demeanour … a doting dad whose parenting skills inspired me, I’m not sure I know anyone else who held his extended family so closeand he has left an unbelievable number of friends who all felt the Luke love … his music taste was way better than mine too but I never felt jealous of such a ego free person
My condolences and ❤️ to Al, the boys, Dom, Maria and your whole crew and team…
Luke, when we spoke last week you said you’d never give up and you didn’t and I know you’re out there smiling gently through the cosmos 💫 ❤️
