We’re out at the Got To Be NC festival today at the state fairgrounds in Raleigh. Come check us out as well as all of the other amazing North Carolina vendors!

My first shop experience and my first Free Comic Book Day in a decade are in the books and it was an awesome time.I definitely tired myself out completely though.

Thank you to all the amazing people who stopped by the table to check out ROBO and Shujaa. Thank you especially to those who heard I'd be there and looked up the book ahead of time or to the aspiring artists who talked with me about their own projects.

And most of all thank you to Russ and Yellow Bird Comics for hosting me on FCBD 2026.You were all such good company.

We throw around the word “indie” a lot.

Image. Dark Horse. Oni. Mad Cave. All incredible. All worth reading.

But then there’s this.

Silent Sun ashcan by Dylan Gerber — the kind of book that exists because someone had a story and just decided to make it real.

No safety net. No machine. Just comics.

Picked this up from @curatorofcomics, who are out here actually helping creators bring these things into the world.

This is why I love comics. Especially indie comics.

Thoughts on being, possibly, too picky about series ends?

Between wrapping up Cyberarchy from Matthew Hardy and Clark Bint, and Synthetics, Vol. 1, from J. Michael Straczynski, et al, I’ve been feeling like perhaps I’m underwhelmed or overly-picky about endings that seem to not grab me…

Any other comic readers feel this way? Should I just enjoy the story for what it is, even if the ending seems lackluster or like it’s retreading old ground.

After all there are only so many plots… right?

Not that I didn’t enjoy the story… but @darkhorsecomics really could have done this differently…
