Today was a good day- Risa smashed her longest run yet w/ @silverlaketrackclub from our house to Makisupa to the Observatory to Makisupa and back to our house- and then Risa’s mom @allehsu spotted us crossing the street on our way home and received a drive by donut from Risa’s dad @chrislaughter.

After moving in with my humans (parents?) I needed a name. With some call and response testing, there were names which felt like they could work but mom and dad weren’t quite sure of the best forever name for me. We invited some besties over for treats, snuggles and a name voting game. There was a clear winner but we couldn’t accept the one single name and decided to give me a full family name. That’s cool, I like variety. When my parents say my first name, I laugh diabolically “bwahahahaha”. When they say my first and middle name together I feel the pressure of family legacy, which I can handle, no problem. And when they say my full name there’s either paperwork to fill out or I’m in trouble— either way. Uh oh. Ok… nice chat. So when is lunch?

I guess humans think I’m cute… It’s whatever. Anyway, now I’m here with my mom and dad who have cool energy. Mom’s a first time puppy parent and Dad thinks he knows everything, but he doesn’t. They don’t realize I can’t speak English. Maybe they will figure it out sooner or later. When is lunch?

My name is Risa Moon Hsu. And I’m an Australian Shepherd. My parents are @chrislaughter @allehsu and they found me at @wagmorpets, where they fell in love with me. I am their Christmas gift.

Here’s a little bit about my name - my first name is Risa, which is Laughter in Spanish. My dad has the best last name 😂. My middle name is Moon, since my great great grandfather is Xu Zhimo, and he created the Crescent Moon Society.
