Students from the Baptist Preparatory School in Little Rock stopped by this week for a night tour. I always enjoy showing off our beautiful Capitol, especially to young Arkansans, and sharing stories about life in public service and our country’s history.

The students were curious, full of spirit, asked great questions, and did well at my pop quizzes.

Thanks to the students and families from Baptist Preparatory School for being making the Capitol building one the stops on your trip to our nation’s Capitol.

Went to Kevin Warsh’s swearing in ceremony in the East Room at the White House this morning. It was such a pleasure to see my great friends of long-standing Art Laffer and Steve Moore. We wish Kevin the very best upon his acceptance of the gavel as chair of the Federal Reserve board of governors.

Wonderful to have the Vice President visit the U.S. Capitol and share his faith journey from atheism to conversion to the Roman Catholic faith. Grateful to House Whip Tom Emmer for hosting and moderating this intimate conversation with J.D. Vance on spiritual life, family, and public service.

Earlier this month, I toured the Standard Lithium LANXESS South Plant Site to learn more about Arkansas’s growing lithium industry and the company’s future development efforts.

We recently had the opportunity to celebrate the incredible talent of student artists across Arkansas’s Second District at our annual Congressional Art Competition Reception in Little Rock.

The art submitted in this year’s contest was fantastic, making the judges jobs especially difficult. Thanks to all who participated and congratulations to the award recipients:

🥇 “Safe Place” by Mia Hunt, Mount St. Mary Academy
🥈 “Last Walk” by Lauren Blanscet, Little Rock Christian Academy
🥉 “We Are Between” by Isabella Minga, Benton High School

Honorable Mention: “What She Holds” by Daughoney Powell, Bigelow High School

Fan Favorite: “Sharing Lunch” by McKenzie Nguyen, Little Rock Christian Academy

Thank you to every student, teacher, parent, and judge who helped make this year’s competition a success. Arkansas has an incredible group of young artists, and I look forward to seeing what they accomplish in the future.

Grateful this #NationalPoliceWeek for the law enforcement officers who serve central Arkansas and communities across the country every day, and remembering those who gave their lives in that service. We are safer and stronger because of you.

HBCU Caucus Co-Chair Rep. Adams and I have been working for years on our bipartisan IGNITE HBCU Excellence Act.

We are fighting to strengthen HBCUs. This legislation would direct the Department of Education to award competitive grants to HBCUs, ensuring that all students prosper. More grants = more opportunities.

Every speaker yesterday was exceptional. Congresswoman Adams and I were blessed to be joined by so many leaders who are invested in making HBCUs as successful as possible.

Congresswoman Nikema Williams made a point to recognize the many opportunities HBCU students go on to have with the support and encouragement of these great institutions.

We want to see our students thrive.

The Constitution, federalism, and the role Congress plays in our system of government are complex subjects, but my Future Leaders Council gives 5th grade students the opportunity to learn important lessons about civics that will help them become more engaged citizens.

This was our third meeting, and Arkansas State Senator Mark Johnson helped me lead the discussion as students broke into small groups to brainstorm and write their very own bills.

Students Veronica Grigorian, Zowi Abrha, and Hudson Drye sat down to share their bill focused on recess policy. This sure put a smile on my face.

I always enjoy seeing these #futureleaders grow and develop their ideas, and I can’t wait to see what they do one day to help make our communities and country even better.

Last Saturday, the Cadron Post chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution dedicated a Liberty Tree to our community. They planted the tree in Matthews Park in Greenbrier in celebration of America’s birthday, #A250

The original Liberty Tree was a famous elm in Boston that became a rallying point for patriots. In 1775, the British cut down the tree in an effort to suppress revolutionary gatherings.

This tree now stands to honor the sacrifices of those who came before us and symbolizes how far we have come as a nation🇺🇸🎇

Big thank you to Hunter Thrasher, who read Mayor Sammy Hartwick’s proclamation for Liberty Day and Faulkner County judge Alan Dodson for his remarks.
