Happy Mother’s Day ❤️ to the woman who motivates me every day. One thing my mom has always taught me is that life isn’t about being perfect - it’s about slowing down, learning from your mistakes, and always choosing to do better.

One night when I was 6, I rushed through my homework hella late at night and accidentally wrote the wrong answer in pen (instead of pencil). I remember being SO SAD because my paper looked messy and scribbled all over. Maybe I was stressed over writing the right or wrong answer and was unsure? IDK. 🥲

That night, my mom had just gotten home from work after her hour long commute, but at 8:30pm she cut up some blank white paper, glued over my mistake (to ‘erase’ it), had my Dad drive all of us with my brother to the Xerox machine at Top Foods grocery store on Center Street in Tacoma… and copied a brand new sheet so I could try again. 😭

It wasn’t about the homework. It was about her teaching me that mistakes aren’t the end of the world — you slow down, fix what you can, and try again with care. Sure, you can unpack a few lessons from this moment, but at the end of this: slowing down, quality > quantity and knowing my mom had my back was everything to me. (But she also told me she would never take me back to fix a mistake like that ever again LMAO.)

Even now as an adult, she still reminds me to “make it nice” whenever I’m rushing through life. And no matter what season I’m in, she always reminds me that we’re a team. ❤️

Happy Mother’s Day ❤️ to the woman who motivates me every day. One thing my mom has always taught me is that life isn’t about being perfect - it’s about slowing down, learning from your mistakes, and always choosing to do better.

One night when I was 6, I rushed through my homework hella late at night and accidentally wrote the wrong answer in pen (instead of pencil). I remember being SO SAD because my paper looked messy and scribbled all over. Maybe I was stressed over writing the right or wrong answer and was unsure? IDK. 🥲

That night, my mom had just gotten home from work after her hour long commute, but at 8:30pm she cut up some blank white paper, glued over my mistake (to ‘erase’ it), had my Dad drive all of us with my brother to the Xerox machine at Top Foods grocery store on Center Street in Tacoma… and copied a brand new sheet so I could try again. 😭

It wasn’t about the homework. It was about her teaching me that mistakes aren’t the end of the world — you slow down, fix what you can, and try again with care. Sure, you can unpack a few lessons from this moment, but at the end of this: slowing down, quality > quantity and knowing my mom had my back was everything to me. (But she also told me she would never take me back to fix a mistake like that ever again LMAO.)
