Some familiar faces are coming to The Museum soon! Shaun The Sheep: Flock This Way will be opening May 16! In this hands-on exhibit, visitors explore the antics of Shaun The Sheep and his pals on Mossy Bottom Farm. Exhibit components and activities encourage children to playfully explore themes including problem solving and resilience in a safe and lighthearted manner. Wish you could bring a bit of the arboretum to your garden? Join us on May 30 from 9am to 1pm in The Stone Terrace Tent for an arboretum plant sale! Both perennial and annual plants are available, and all proceeds will directly benefit our 25-acre arboretum.

Gary Erbe: Magical World is now open! This engaging exhibition includes fifty works that cover both paintings and finished assemblages (models for the paintings), with more than a dozen works that feature the American flag. Erbe is known for his innovative contributions to still life and trompe l’oeil (fool the eye) painting, a genre rooted in the tradition of eighteenth and nineteenth century realism.
The exhibit is here from now until August 2, 2026.

Dogs & Brews is a family-friendly celebration featuring raffle prizes and opportunities to connect with local pet rescues, organizations, and vendors who support our furry friends. Souvenir tasting glasses will be available for pre-registered attendees while supplies last. Tickets are available for purchase on The Museum's website.

Join educators from The Museum on May 28 for Home School Days-Future Sleuths and Figuring Out Forensics! Learn about the importance of agriculture in Pennsylvania and how you can bring agricultural practices into your own home! Programs are designed for elementary school age students (younger and older siblings welcome to participate).
Reservations are required, and ticket prices for one session are as follows:
Members: $20 for 1 adult and 1 child, $8 for each additional child or adult
RSD Families: $20 for 1 adult and 1 child, $8 for each additional child or adult
Non-Members: $30 for 1 adult and 1 child, $14 for each additional child or adult
Ticket prices for all 6 sessions in the series are as follows:

Get ready to grow, brunch, and bring your imagination to life! Join us for a fun-filled morning where kids can create their own pollinator creations while enjoying a delicious, family-friendly brunch. Learn all about how we can be friends with butterflies right here in Berks County. All supplies are provided — just bring your creativity and an appetite for fun! Perfect for children ages 5-12 and their families. Each child will leave with a pollinator plant, while supplies last. This event is for members and non-members alike!

Reservations are required, and ticket prices are as follows:
Members: $15 per child and $20 per adult
Non Members: $20 per child and $25 per adult
RSD Families: $15 per child and $20 per adult

The Reading Public Museum is proud to be a place of lifelong learning and enjoyment for guests of all ages and abilities. The Museum will offer Sensory Inclusive hours on May 23, 5-6pm.
Registration is suggested, as those who pre register will receive a pre-visit information packet, but it is not required. This event is free for Museum Members and free with Museum Admission for non-members. Those interested in participating should email becky.ruth@readingpublicmuseum.org
