Calling - Ofelia Jarl Ortega and The Field at Ravnedans 2026
In Calling, the choreographer Ofelia Jarl Ortega examines the power relations within the collective of The Field. The dynamics are revealed in all their complexity through choreographic games and playful scenarios. The performers offer themselves to each other to be used, downtrodden or deified, teased or even pleasured.
Blending choreography, rhythm, repetition, and physical endurance, Calling explores what happens when bodies move together toward something unknown, a need, a desire, a call.
A hypnotic and visceral encounter balancing between ritual, concert, dance performance, and shared

LOCAL Artists Showings at Ravnedans 2026
At Ravnedans Festival, we wish to support and uplift the local performing arts field in Kristiansand.
This initiative invites local artists to share works in progress in front of an audience, creating space for constructive feedback, open conversations, artistic reflection, and exchange around the creative process.
Each showing is followed by a public conversation moderated by choreographer Louis Schou-Hansen, where artists and audience members meet through dialogue, curiosity, and shared reflection.
This year’s local showings:
SPLIT SIGNAL — Maggi Asbjørnsen
An interactive performance experienced through headphones and physical presence in the room. Upon arrival, the audience chooses between two different soundtracks, creating parallel realities unfolding side by side. Split Signalexplores perception, participation, and the coexistence of multiple experiences within the same space.
RESONANCE — André Tribbensee
A work-in-progress presentation exploring vibration, presence, and the invisible connections between bodies, sound, and space. RESONANCE invites the audience into a sensory and evolving artistic landscape still in transformation.
BLONDE HÅR — Andrea Maaseide
A local showing balancing intimacy, identity, and performative exploration. Through movement and staged presence, BLONDE HÅR opens questions around image, perception, and embodiment within a raw and evolving artistic process.
Come witness artistic processes in motion and be part of the conversation 💫

LANGT UTE OG LENGST INNE - @bananazforeningforscenekunst at Ravnedans 2026
Langt Ute og Lengst Inne is a choreographed installation working with and challenging perception. In a dark room, what you see, what you think you see, and your own fantasies begin to merge.
You are guided down a path, into a room, and toward a bench where you are invited to lie undisturbed throughout the duration of the piece. Within the landscape you look into, dim light and a group of hands exist together. They do not reach for objects, nor do they comfort or harm.
An intimate and immersive experience balancing between dream, hallucination, and quiet observation.
A work that slows down time and invites the audience into a fragile space where imagination becomes part of the choreography.

Studio showing RODEO - Hannah Parsons at Ravnedans 2026
The Lone cowboy rides in search. Heavy steps in the desert. Rolling tumbleweed. A loop pedal, a guitar, a voice building and bending itself. This is in unfinished, alive, solo version of RODEO. The full scale piece will be for a group of dancers, and has its premiere in June 2027 at Dansens Hus.
Blending concert, performance, and choreographic research, RODEO explores loneliness, mythologies of masculinity, longing, and the endless search for belonging.

Our Ravnedans team gathered not only to plan,
but to listen.
To the silence between ideas.
To the fire that still burns beneath this festival we carry together.
We took time to breathe, reflect, question and dream.
And somewhere in those long conversations, the future unfolded before us… wild, fearless and full of possibility.
Ravnedans was never meant to stand still.
We are here to dare.
To explore unknown paths.
To create moments that shake us awake and pull us closer together.
Our motivations burn brighter than ever.
For the art.
For the dance.
For the community.
For all of you.
The next chapter is calling… and we are ready to leap. 🖤

UNDERSANG - @harald.beharie at Ravnedans 2026
Undersang is a queer ecology emerging through devotion, joy, and fiction as forms of resistance and reclamation of time. In encounter with nature, gestures and states are awakened to life; nostalgic, sensual, and primal. Within a mosaic of bodies and landscapes, voices rise forward, while cries and calls summon a hypnotic chorus. Through a collective and unpredictable energy, Undersang opens a terrain of physical and affective vibration in search of fertile ground for healing, grief, and celebration.
A powerful outdoor experience where bodies, sound, and landscape merge into a living ritual of connection and transformation.

GLITCH CHOIR - @devaschubert at Ravnedans 2026
A “glitch” describes a disturbance in the transmission of digital information, such as a distorted image or a stuttering video. It creates a rupture in the perception of reality. Can grief also be understood as a glitch in that sense?
The performance Glitch Choir translates the moment of digital disturbance into the analog space through voice and body in order to recompose a lament. Historically, public mourning practices were long carried out by so-called “Klageweiber.” These women were commissioned to give emotional expression to the grief of others for the deceased. At the same time, the act of lamentation became a vehicle through which their voices could be heard, that otherwise had little presence in the public sphere.
Presented in collaboration with local participants as part of the festival program in Kristiansand.

TRAGEDY - @louis.schou at Ravnedans 2026
Shaped as an immersive performance exhibition, Tragedy is an all-consuming space draped entirely in black, where two miserable fictional characters enact a slow, endlessly looping nightmare. This dreamscape takes the shape of an entrapment, a labyrinth without walls, a site where Western cultural tropes from the baroque until now take shape as disordered compulsions: lap dances, star-crossed lovers, cowboy fantasies, dying swans, court des ballets, still lives, and Hollywood sex. Tragedy is a non-emotional burial ground for an undying history—a form of time in decay.
A dense, surreal, and visually striking experience, inviting you to step inside the loop.
